The first time around got a little tied up in red tape and I got the OK from the admins to try to do something a little less professional, yet hopefully still something we will all value. What I'm talking about here is more of a home-grown kind of effort. Anyway, all the details are on this here webpage: OFC CD WEB PAGE Basically it'll work like this: You send me your songs in some workable format (.wav) and I'll do a little fix'n'mix. Due to some legal issues we can't use a professional producer so I've got to do the producing myself, that way we can record whatever we want to without all that copyright mumbo-jumbo. The finished CD will be FREE to OFC members (just pay for the blank disc and postage). Like I said, all the info you need should be on the website so get going. Here is a little inticement for you. Right now the entire CD playlist is FULL. That's right, 23 songs of ME playing ukulele. Every song you submit is one more ukulele song that gets deleted. Get busy. Email me of you have any questions. I now must take the digital recording setup that my grandson gave me out of the suitacase and record some decent songs to save our web site. I am sure I am wrong, but I had visions of Dave emulating Tiny Tim as he produced his ukelele excrement and put it on OUR CD. I am going to work immediately to save our ass. In the next few weeks I will submit versions of obscure ABBA songs that failed to make it but are "artistically" significant. One is titled, "Why Does a Viking Fart Make You want To Dance", The other is "Our Various Wives, and husbands, Want Your DOLLARS". That should go a long way to save our web site. Bailey

But the quality is usually lower. Minidisc - OK. DAT - NO. I don't have a DAT player. Cassette - If you must. I'll do what I can with it. Better than submitting nothing at all.

There goes my rap version of "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" that features the dancing baby doing break dancing while the band cakewalks left and right and the master of ceremony does a cheerleader flaming baton twirl.

Joined: June 2002 Posts: 6197 Location: Phoenix AZ | Doesn't matter. I guess data file is easiest for me, but no big deal. One submission is arriving on cassette, that's life. Like I said this is a "grassroots effort", any and everything is welcome. BTW, unofficial ukulele track count is down to a dangerously low 17.

Is there a theme, or an idea, or are you just going to pick out stuff you like, regardless of genre? I am not too clear on your target, or goal. I'm looking forward to hearing the members' efforts. It's great that you have the inititive to get the ball rolling. Cheers, Buck
