Did an impromptu audition at a prospective new venue last night.

BIG open room (actually, a relocated 1790's barn).
Three floors worth of open space filled with people eating/drinking/chatting.

No microphone. No P.A. No sound system. Nada.
Just a small raised stage in the corner of a crowded dining room.

Luckily, . . . . I'd had the foresight to bring the SlotHead.

The guitar just FILLED the space.
With just the opening chords, all heads turned.
When I was done a couple people actually thought that the multi-soundoles were "speakers".

I'll admit that it's really nice to OWN a Howitzer . . .

. . . but it's a lot more fun when y'can actually "shoot" somebody with it, once in a while . . .

Maybe Miles will lose a couple guitars on his move to the NorthWest, preferably as he's passing through Idaho.

Actually, the guy offered me money to stay 'till closing THAT night!! :D
Had to turn him down, as my pipes NEVER woulda' lasted that long with that crowd without a mic.

Gotta' feeling I'll be back there, tho . . . .

Nice....

I wonder if any of the people in the crowd knew what a treat they were looking at and listening to?
I'm talking about the guitar Cliff...

Your killing me with these Gig's your playing Cliff. I am back working solo again on the acoustic music sets I had worked out with another guitarist. He is no more, he is moving. A bunch of people I know are moving? Maybe it's me? Anyway I know I am much better with a partner so, from square one, I will start over again.
Can't wait to hit a few local joints as a two piece. It's had been 20 years now since I played in front of anyone who was not a musicain or close fiend and on an actual stage.

Keep-a-rockin!

Randy

Wish you were a little closer to the center of the state, Randy. I'm toying with the idea of a duo thing too. I just can't help it listening to the fun that Brian and Brad have and the absolute lack of respect Rick and Cliff have for each other. Just screams good times, doesn't it? Oh well - I'll be a couple hours away looking for a potential partner too...but maybe we'll get to cross paths at the Tour!

Cliff, I checked the TMG website and didn't find any sound samples. Anywhere we might get a taste of your musicality?

Yeah! It would sure be a rarity round these parts to have two guy's on stage playing Ovations!

It really has been a very long time for me since I last played an actual "Gig". Cliff's got to be having a blast!

Captain,
Buy the OFC TOUR 2005 DV from the OFC Store. I recorded/video/ed The Jam Part. Waskel did the editing/final production. That way you can actually see some of the people from this Club.

I'm curious to know how many people were bold enough to look behind the llama in the window. Anyone?

Waskel,
I edited my post to say "Jam Part". Sorry about that. My coffee did't wake me up totally that early in the morning yet.
