Location: Madison, Wisconsin | NOT good news folks. Here is an exerpt from the findings of the recent MRI I had done last week.
Without Contrast
Conclusion:
1. Complete tear of the subscapularis tendon with associated marked edema, joint effusion and medial dislocation of the long head of the biceps tendon.
2. Deep (80-90%) articular-sided partial-thickness tearing of the subraspinatus tendon spanning a distance of approximately 1.5cm at the intersection
With Contrast
1. SLAP tear mostly involving the posterior-superior aspect of the labrum
2. Complete tear of the middle glenohumeral ligament.
3. Findings reconfirming a complete tear or the subscapularis tendon and deep articular-sided partial –thickness tear of the surpaspinatuis
Does anybody have any idea how long it might be before I can play after surgery? |

Location: South of most, North of few | Bill, it would seem you had quite a trauma in your shoulder area, and as far as healing time would go, all I can add is what I know about my issue with a torn tendon (can't remember the name of it) assioated with a rotator cuff repair. They had to go in and cut some bone, and repair the torn tendon. The most important part was the rehab by a trained therapist, but it took me probably 6 months before I would attempt to play a guitar. Best of luck with it. Just follow the therapist's dirrections and excercises, and it will speed the healing. |

Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands | I had that same surgery, on both my shoulders. You shouldn't be worried, prognosis is good. That said, the first two weeks after surgery you will be agony. I'd say at about 4 weeks you'll be practicing.

Location: Madison, Wisconsin | I was hiking in some rocky hills on Thanksgiving Day and tried to stop myself from slipping. My arm went backward and the rest of me went forward. At lest I was having fun at the time. It's been hurting but I never dreamed it was this serious. I need to see a surgeon next week. |

Seriously Bill, let us know when your surgery is scheduled. I've got a A.C. separation that I'm not looking forward to having repaired. the only that hurts worse than a shoulder injury, is getting it fixed. |

They use little, I forget what you call 'em, telescopes, and micro scapels and the like ... 20 years ago they wouldn't have been able to fix it, and you'd (we would've) had to stay in pain. This is one techno advance I like.
Once your surgeon says your a candidate, I wouldn't wait, because things only will get worse. |

Location: Madison, Wisconsin | Might be a good time for my Legend to take a trip back home for a few repairs and tweeking. I'm really trying to look at the bright side. Good pain meds used to make me happy but for some reason, I don't think that's going to help this time. |

Basically, they make you dopey and after a week you'd rather deal with the pain. But like I said, it's just that initial two weeks that's bad. |

Location: south east Michigan | The guy I sit next to at work got a letter from his diabeties doctor saying that he is "terminating the doctor/patient relationship." Yep..the guy got fired by his doctor for not following the doctor's instructions.
So do what the doctor says. They are starting to get kinda uppity. |

Location: Madison, Wisconsin | Fired by your doctor, wouldn't that feel good. We've recectly been given an article on how to "fire a customer". Slow, pay, demanding very low costs, lots of phone work. Sounds like it might be a trend. |

Really beautiful, as is the Kettle Morraine area and many other places in Wisconsin. One of the few other places I'd like to live. My dad would say there's too many Democrats, though. He says the same about Oregon, where he lives now. |
