I remember reading an article in GP when they were in their heyday, in which Nancy Wilson said she pretty much stayed in the shadows as she didn't play as well as the guys. I've since heard her play. She either has gotten a whole lot better or was downplaying her talent in that interview.

But we go mountain biking together, go to football games, share some beers. All that typical guy stuff and we're all brazen and macho as hell when we're together and talk all kinds of guy smack. But then every so often we'll have a neighborhood family picnic or something including the wives. And sure as hell, the guys will all cower and huddle in the corner of the yard like little puppies afraid to make any eye contact with our wives. We talk in whispers and jump at the slightest oppotunity to help out the wives in any way we can. It's the funniest freaking thing you've ever seen. Of course we never admit or discuss it afterwards. Hope to see them again this year. Doubt you'll see Nancy or Ann play Ovation onstage anymore....Nancy seems to have gone to Takamine or Martin, and Ann has gone to Rainsong. Nancy does have a couple of Ovations in her composing room, though, and Ann has a pair of Ovation 12-strings. Roger

Y'know? Remember... OR They just sit back (like Karen) and watch the boys be silly. Which is good. Cuz if the dudes knew that the chicks were watching, they would be really silly then.

Joined: April 2006 Posts: 1017 Location: Budd Lake, NJ | "Jewel" is my Custom Elite 868 LX; she really is the jewel of my stable. Her name is based on a verse of Scripture. All of my herd have names; they seem more personable that way. An upside is I never need to worry if I've forgotten which model prefix goes with whom, and my friends know them by name. (I have also been known to name other people's guitars, too--just ask Robbie.) --Karen
