It was just announced that MelBrooks' Broadway production of "TheProducers" will be closing in April. I sat 3rd row for the original NathanLane/Matthew Broderick cast, and I never laughed so hard until . . . well, until "Spamalot" opened.

I've never seen the re-make movie version, but I can't see how it could be as good as the stage production. Of course, the Mostel/Wilder original is impeccable.

The Good News:
"The Producers" will be replaced with a stage production of "YoungFrankenstein" . . .

THIS . . oughta' be GOOD!!!

IMHO the movie was unwatchable. I LOVE the original producers movie. I tried several times to watch the remake and just could not

The original was classic. Maybe if the remake had Miles and Al?

The 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' 'The Producers' episodes were hilarious.

Anna Nicole would have been great as Elizabeth.

As far as the OFC Cast Version, let's see:

Dr.F - Al
Monster - Moody
Igor - Cliff
Elizabeth - Brad

Yes, this oughta' be GOOD!!!

What knockers!!!!
I used to take dates to see Monty Python, Young Frankenstein, or Blazing Saddles as kind of a litmus test to see if we were on the same page.
It kinda turned out to work both ways.

BTW... the women I married some 28 years ago thinks Young Frankenstein is the funniest movie ever made.

Like asking her if she would like to meet for Raktajino at a Trekkie Convention?

My significantly other has a weakness for Monty Python, Red Green and Titus but will avoid Red Dwarf at all costs!

That Broadway offering of YF would be worth a trip.

I actually took a real, live girl type person to a Trek Convention. There weren't many guys there that could say that.
A Klingon tried to hit on her.

I'd be first in line for Young Frankenstein on the stage.

The Producers will always be remembered as Mel's masterpiece. The remake sucked like a Hoover.
I always thought Blazing Saddles was funnier than YF, but the margin was tiny.

Gene Wilder was a seriously unfunny guy in real life but he was in two iof the funniest films ever made - The Producers and Silver Bullet. Go figure.

Before things get out of hand, let me say that the "van" was not mine. It was sitting in the used car lot & I just took a picture.
But feel free to let your creative minds go where they will.
