| My dad handed this guitar down to me, and I'd keep it and continue playing it, but I need to start saving to pay off my student loans. Anyways, it's an Ovation Celebrity CC68. I don't know what year it is, and it has a dent on the soundboard (there when I got it). I want to sell it locally, but I don't know how much it's worth. I know these are collectors items, so any help would be great. Here's some pics:

Seriously, The Celeb is an import. They don't bring that much used. Not that it's not worth that much used, just with the ding and all, it's probably worth keep around just because your dad gave it to you. |

I've got a 13 year old 1860 and a 25 year old bbq guitar (my first) and already I'm stressing as to which one of my kids will get the Ovation and which one will get the other one when I'm gone. I'm hoping that they'll be able to pass them on to their kids one day. :) |

Just lost my job and can't even afford new strings. Lucky I got some a couple of weeks ago before the wolf started knocking at the door. I'd hate to think of either of my guitars ending up in a pawn shop one day. |

Location: Portland, OR | To answer your question though... my guess is maybe 100-200 and that's on ebay.. locally you might be able to get a higher price from someone who doesn't know much about what they are buying.. but if I were to buy that guitar i'd consider paying 50-100 with that ding in it. SO that's alteast one pricing opinion. My real opinion holds with the others in that you would do mcuh better to keep it sentimentally.. it probably sounds much better than what its worth! |

| Thanks for all the advice. I still ok with selling it because the real sentimental gift my dad gave me was my violin (it's worth way more, and i'm much better on that than I am on guitar). I'd be ok with getting ~$300 for it, but from what people are saying, I'll probably keep it. |

I sold a Celebrity like that about a year ago and just cleared a hundred bucks. The foreign made guitars just don't bring that much. |

| Thanks for all the input guys. I posted it on craiglist in houston asking for $150, and I had a ton of people emailing me about it. I also just put it up on ebay b/c I saw a similar model on there going for a lot. Even if I get my starting bid price I'd be ok. I know everyone keeps saying keep it, but I really just don't need it. I only want to keep one guitar, and it's gonna be my Everett guitar. If you've never heard of them, check 'em out on the website www.everettguitars.com They are works of beauty! I'll try to post some pics of her soon. |

There are some nice DLPRPTV's out there. It's still the cheapest way to get a HUGE viewing area. Ours was free. It's an albatross from when our church moved. Hopefully I'll score a 3" objective (or bigger) DLP projector before the "TV that dwarfs you" dies... :D :p :D :p

That does look like some nice back and side wood there. It's probably a much nicer guitar than the one he's selling. |

| No they're right...that wood backed one next to it was my first guitar ever. $100 epiphone from guitar center...it's total crap compared to the ovation or everett. I'm trying to get rid of that plywood box with strings too. |
