it was discussed and dissected a few weeks ago when the seller posted it the first time.

the consensus was a resounding "uh-uh".

Melissea E would be over the moon with her portrait, she looks 20 years younger

....quite a contrast to the "mentally challenged" Glen Campbell

This guitar was on display at NAMM. If I recall (will have to check photos), I think it had a list price on it of $10k. If that's the case than good 'ol Brother Robert is really trying to stick it to the congregation. Shame on him. Btw, the guitar looks better in the photos than it did in person. For $2k I might be tempted to hang it on a wall as a decoration. Or not.

Well, if you add it all up that might not be too far from the truth!

Sorry to pat myself on the back, but I think the Darth Vader 2080 looks WAY better than this $25k poster job. I actually thought ME looked like Anne Murrey.

If I remember right, at NAMM we were all thinking that $10k was way too much for that guitar....

A more interesting question might be this . . . if you did have $10,000 (and only $10,000) to spend on guitars, and you were starting from scratch, what would you buy, including second-hand purchases?

I hope no one here was involved in the production of that guitar, because I'm about to say something that's not nice. It looks like crap. The paint job looks like what I would expect from a high school art student's second attempt: The faces are mis-proportioned and the perspective on AD's guitar is pathetic.

Frankly, if this came from the factory (meaning the paint job is a factory commissioned thing, and not something that was added later by someone else) they should be ashamed. This thing is tacky in concept and amateurish in execution.

I don't think the point of the sale (and price) is to actually sell the instrument as much as it is to sell the Seller.

It's like one step up from one of those Elvis on black velvet paintings.

Well, I think we all now know what "not nice" means. :D

(BTW, no disagreement here either)

Well, were I really to have shared my honest opinion, it would have involved references to a "bullfighter emblazoned on black velvet", a "mural painted on the side of an illegal alien's van", and perhaps " Angelina Jollie as the Wal-Mart Madonna "

But I don't want to be unkind.

If the portraits had been:
Glenn C's deranged DWI photo
Melissa E's bald chemo photo
Al Di's stoned wild eyed late 70's photo
Then you'd have a keeper!

And I would maintain it's still way too expensive for what you're getting.

As long as you're leaving the poker playing dogs out of this, I'm ok with it. After all, there are lines of decorum, you know. Well, I've heard anyway.

I have to say that the one thing I DO like is the paint-job on the back of the neck . . .

(On the guitar, not Angelina"Collect 'em All"Jolie)
