I do my own mods and repairs to my guitars. refretting, wiring, pick up swaps, I have even tried to HAND wind a single coil pickup(don't try that at home please) that took for ever. I am an amature photgrapher. I shoot with a Nikon D-50 and several lenses. My Nikon gallery if you are interested This Celebrity that I aquired over the weekend is the second round back I have owned. I had an Applause back in the early 80's (aluminum fretboard) deep bowl and it was a dog......only I didn't know then what I know now about guitar setup. I am on several forums and moderate one of them. I am not what one would call a cork sniffer when it comes to guitars and gear, it just has to play and sound good. I work retail. I am a fomer U.S. Marine I had a heart attack at 36(lot's o fun there!) My last cigarette was Oct,17th 2002(day of the heart attack) I am 40 now 3 cats, 1 wife, 2 cars 4 4x12 cabinets 3 amps and my real name is Paul There is a long story behind the Elliot Meldoy name.

Life is too short to play mediocre guitars. I really don't understand all of this vintage hype, especially when it comes to old Sears and Roebuck special type guitars. You know those cheap cheesy things that where starter guitars in the 60's and 70's. folks are trying to get big bucks for these things. The same thing with the CBS Fenders and Norlin Gibsons. I have seen many Squiers with better build quality than their expensive USA counterpart. It's funny, I am on a Vintage amp forum, and all of these guys talk about Mojo, and Tone. So tell me, why do people spend a small fortune on a Vintage tube Marshall, spend even more $$$ getting it back to vintage specs, and then put a $90.00 solid state ditortion pedal in front of it! I guess when you grow up watching Hendrix humping his Marshall stacks all is explained. I have a Vintage(80's)Laney Pro-Tube 50MV AOR series amp (commonly called the Marshall killer). basically it is a hot rodded Marshall JCM800. it costs less than half of what the unmodded JCM800 does and the Marshall guys still end up modding the amp anyway. It's all in a name. I have played many Squiers with better necks than US models, Epiphones with better fret work and setup than Les Pauls. acoustics on the other hand, being that the wood makes 100% tonal diference, I will agree there. but then I gotta spend 2k on one.
