HOWEVER, I'd be happy to custom order you a replica. Let me jot down your credit card number and I'll get right back to you..." It would be really cool if Al uncovered one. Always interesting to know where they all ended up after these years of mystery. I think the list Bill posted awhile back was pretty accurate. Dave

I still go to a few to press the flesh and hang out (I am a living legend in Columbus) and see my midwestern buddies even though they still insist on calling SODA, "pop". Pop was my father. So a guy comes up to me and starts to finger the ne Ultra I brought along with me and asks if I know anything about Ovations. Me, wearing my "Ovation fan club" t shirt replies "sure a little" and gets ready for some annoying. he started using words like pre production, pre tooling, and serial number 3 and Adamas and I was skeptical. I asked if he guitar was a slot head and he said it was. He insisted it was serial number 3 and I called him on it. I told him it could NOT be 0003 and that was that. He then explained that according to the chart he read it was the third guitar that got into production and he was not sure of the s/n because it was a mile long. great, here is my card take some pics e mail it to me I would LOVE to see it. well he explained he only lived a mile away and he would go home and bring it to show me. when he showed up with a brown case WITH SPARKLE ON THE OUTSIDE, my heart started to race. I threw open the latched to reveal a -2 slothead I looked in the soundhole to discover it was truely 0029. I sat there in disbelief playing the guitar with the biggest grin you have ever seen on my face. I dragged the guitar out into the hallway took some pics and the owner told me the story. he is a flatpicker and loves martins but was infactuated with the adamas guitars when they came outbut at 2500 he could not afford one. In 1980 he walked into a local music show saw the same guitar he lusted over but now on consignment for $650 and he rushed to the bank got the money and bought it. He has owned it ever since. At one point he loaned to a girlfriend who worn out the cowboy frets took a chunk out of the epaulet and some chunks out of the case. I have exact details of the story written down and will let them out later. Pics will come after I find my camera and open up photoshop and resize them so I can post them. I use my digital camera on the lowest settings and it is still too small to just upload a pic UUUUUURRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!. so to say the least I had a GREAT time in Ohio.
