Phil's hoisting the Official PNW OFC Gathering II in the coolest location this year. Alas, some of can't make the trip.

So, i'm opening the house up again for a gathering on July 14th. dvd and i have been in contact and i will be coordinating the logistics.

Drop me a PM if you can make it. I will develop details as it becomes clear how many folks plan on attending.

Greg, you and Sheri were great hosts last year. Your cool back yard was the perfect venue, and your kebobs were second to none! I'd be happy to join in again this year. I'll be there on the 14th, let me know what I can bring.

Well, as there's only going to be two of us (& SWMBOs!) at the Vancouver Island Musicfest I don't know that we can call it a PNW-OFC gathering...but one way of the other it WILL be an international incident.

I am marking July 14 on the calendar to see the reaction it gets....

We've already got a few folks who are going to try and make it. Perhaps if you also post here it may help entice others.

Portland folks should definitely see if they can clear their calenders. We had a great time last year.

Where two or more are gathered... there will be GAS!

Of course its an OFC gathering! If we start requiring rules and definitions it ain't gonna be fun any more!

Pick where you're planted!

Greg's is a great idea. I'll see what my Wife thinks about a junkett. I was considering hosting one on July 7th (me and Woz's birthdays) but I'll be in a wedding instead. Still get cake...

I'll run it up the flagpole. I might even have a critter outta the BFLG Lab by then! I WILL bring the 1537, and probably, Ol' Josh.

Aside from the obvious, let me know if you need us to bring anything. Potato salad, drinks, guitar stands, patch cables, etc., etc., etc.

Definitely guitar stands!

We will figure out the details as we get closer and have a firmer grasp on the head count.

PNW OFC Lite it is :)

As I determined easily last year, your playing skills are irrelevant. Your comraderie is, though. Everyone was the epitome of tact & diplomacy, & very encouraging, in regard to my obviously limited skills.
Just come!

Of course not! But you will certainly want to play one, or two, or ... There are usually some fantastic guitars that show up.

When I told the wife, her reply was, "that will really be cool!" Count us for at least two.

You got Tim to come out of hiding. I doubt I can make it, but if I can, what guitar (singular) should I bring? This assumes I will drive over in the Boxster with a guitar in the passenger seat instead of my wife. I could bring an Ultra GS or 2 in the back trunk, but can't fit any acoustic Ovations in the trunk.

never can tell, by then you might have an OFC to show off!

Arthur, no talent required. They let me in last time!

Mark. You need a minivan. It will make you look responsible....

Phil,
We finally got out of the minivan phase. Actually, we had 4 VW campers before we had the Honda Odyssey. Traded that on a Pilot. The Pilot is not as practical, but I don't feel as bad about driving the same vehicle that 3 other people have at the same intersection.
I will probably be in Portland for a wedding on June 23 and don't want to go back 3 weeks later unless I make it into a somewhat enjoyable trip.
Last year when we did this it was the 3rd weekend in a row that I was in Portland. That's too much for someone who doesn't live there.
If I have the OFC guitar by then, I'll bring it, unless someone else brings one.

Sadly (well, for me at least... ymmv) as much as I would like to, I won't be able to make it. The 14th lands squarely in the middle of our annual church family camp weekend.

We had a good time last year, but I'm sure you'll all manage to have some level of fun without me. Should raise the average skill level, if nothing else.
Mark, I would miss seeing your OFC guitar if I hadn't played a certain one every chance I got in CT. You're gonna love it.

My suggestion? Read The God Delusion, quit the church, and come to the gathering.

But I'm the spawn of Satan, don't listen to me....

......I suppose this means you're not gonna sign my copy of your cd now?

John, maybe you could send us a life-size cardboard cutout of yourself and we'll prop it up and play your CD on a loop.

Bummer you won't be there (for real) but there'll be other occasions!

Idaho Mark asks: "Which guitar to bring?..."

Interesting dilemma, I'm seriously considering the 1112, with all the cracks.
It's a POS, but it do sound nice.

Then I have to think of a song that I can play all the way through...
Knockin' on Heaven's Door? (naw)
Where Do The Children Play? (that's better)
Be the most inspiration to practice that I've had.
'Stead of just playing a verse of something during TV commercials.

FYI... Ray -- the local Kaman rep -- has thrown his name in the hat as well.

Maybe he'll bring some fun new toys to show off again!

I think last year he had a Collector's, a 2080, and a cool LX model with all sorts of pieces cut away to show off the technology.

Sorry, Phil. The only 'God delusion' I'm familiar with is the one that people who can deny He exists are under.

I'd be happy to sign your CD. No extra charge.
