is playing in a small club (holds about 350 max) in a few weeks.

I know we have some fans.....are his live shows worth seeing (especially in a small venue)?

Wish he'd come inside of 3 1/2 hours of me. I'd be there for sure. What leg of the Tour - solo, 1000 Years or with the electric band?

He's in Boise tonight in an old theater across from my office. I didn't know about it till I read it in the paper tonight. I'm going if there's any tickets left.

Just got back. Walked across the street at lunch to get tickets, but the window wasn't open yet. Went back about 2 and most of the seats on the main floor were gone, but I got 2 on the right aisle 10 rows back. Took off a few before 5, played 9 holes, met lovely Linda for dinner just as I finished and headed back downtown for the concert.
He was just great. The only problem with the seats was that they were in front of the speakers. I don't do well with British accents, so I had trouble understanding the lyrics. Everything else was exceptional. Not a sour note or dull moment in over 2 hours. Fun to watch the crowd, most of whom were over 50. One guy with long gray hair bobbing his head like a pigeon the whole time while a bald guy in front of him did the same. I'm surprised he had so many fans here. His song about Iraq even went over well here in this bright red state. Must have been all the liberals in Idaho in one theater. 100 year old Egyptian Theater, by the way. Life is good here. Going to buy a 52 Vincent.

Good luck finding one! That's my favorite song currently.

On sugarmegs.org, there's a lot of Richards shows. My favorites are always the solo acoustic shows. I love his electric playing, and his band is great too. But it seems like his songs REALLY come to life when he plays them alone on a flat top.

I was just kidding about the 52 Vincent, but not about the rest. We agree we liked the acoustic tunes better. It was hard for us to hear the lyrics of the songs with the electric.

A buddy and myself will be making the journey tomorrow night. Club holds a about 350 max and has seating for maybe 75....the rest get to stand and mill around the stage that connects directly to the standing area and is about 4 fee high.....so the artists at this venue are very accessible to their fans.

Should be fun

All this talk... I'm getting itchy to see him again... and I just did back in July.

One amazing tidbit, Stephen... his solos are always improvised, he doesn't do rehearsed/set solos, so every show is different.

If you're anywhere near Ithaca in January, let me know, Jeff. I'll grab an extra ticket for you.
