I purchased a beautiful Nunwell Slide from Matt's site and it arrived the other day...

As much as I like it, It doesn't fit over the knuckle of my pinky... the interior diameter is 11/16" and I need something like 7/8" to fit down over the knuckle...

Anyone have one (Nunwell) that's too large and want to trade??

Start those finger exercises you've been putting off... time for those Jimmy Deans to lose some weight.

Ironically, one of Templeman's favourite slides (for a while) was a tequila shot glass that I gave him three Tours ago . . .

The Nunwell's are GREAT slides!!!
The problem IS that they're hard to buy w/o trying. Like Slotheads & Snowflakes, each one is Individual and DIFFERENT cuz they're handblown glass.

I think the Patron explains the mix-up at this year's Tour.

(OR . . you STILL have that Standing Invite to stopover whilst travelling the Northeast Corridor . . bring it then . . .)

I bought one of those slides from Matt at a NGW workshop this past summer. Each one is unique and slightly different in size. I found that you have to try a few before you find one with the perfect fit.

Jeff, you should contact Matt and see if he can switch it for a slightly bigger one. Also, Matt is sure to have some at the Amelia Island clinic.

For those who are unfamiliar with these slides, they're hand made, nicely designed and very heavy. At $40 they're expensive, but worth it. Each one is signed and dated. I had brought a $4 Dunlop glass slide to the workshop and Matt did an A/B comparison of the tone produced by each slide. It was night and day. Heavy glass makes for a great slide tone. And since one end is closed, it can be used as a shot glass (with some minor difficulty if you're Temp, but that's a whole 'nuther story).

Word of Caution:

If you DROP one of these on a hard surface, they utterly disintegrate
(my partner found this out the hard way).

It's so beautiful, I might just keep it to look at. It would be a tiny shot glass... so, only really appropriate for shots of methanol...

Take note, Jeff. Standing Invite.
No sitting or laying about is implied, a vertical position is to be maintained at all times during the visit.

Jeff, it's very cool, and I'm interested if you decide to part with it. Based on measuring my current slide it would be a perfect fit.

Clifford, what's your life like November 3rd? I could be up and spend the night...

I'm aware of the rules but, last time 'round, there was some confusion as to the definition of "Standing"

If I decide to part with it, You'll be the first. You might try Matt's site too, as he just received a new batch.
