It is with great sadness that I report Slipkid (Brad) after an aggressive illness has joined the choir invisible.

Oh no! May his soul rest in peace. I pray comfort for his family and all the OFC folks who will no doubt be shaken by this news. My deepest condolences.

It's really a very very sad news!!
I was lucky to met him in 2007 and I remember a so kind guy.
After the coconuts, "The french fries" don't have the same taste tonight...

Somebody know where the OFC Manifesto is on this site? Brad wrote it and it was brilliant....

Well crud....

A bad week just got worse.

Slipkid encouraged me to take over the calendar project when he and DesignZilla had to step back. Every time I'm working on the newest one, I always remember how helpful his advice was when I started.

Rest in peace Brad. May choirs of angels bring you winging home!

Here it is, permanently enshrined in the "Reference and FAQ" section.

Sad day in Ovation land and for those of us who had the pleasure to spend time with him in person.

It was a pleasure knowing him, and a greater honor sharing a stage. May his family find comfort in how many people's lives were enriched by him. RIP Slip.

I tried three times today to re-read the Manifesto... I think I'll go buy more kleenex before I try again.

Damn! That's probably not appropriate, but I can't help it. He was one of the best friends I never met. We were always going to get together "someday".

Another one gone this morning
How many does that make?
Lord knows I've lost count
It's a pain I just can't take

Do I hold back the tears
grit my teeth as my heart breaks
or do I steel my emotions
and let the tears turn to a lake?

I probably can't do either one
I wasn't made that way
So I'll just let it all flow
and hope it will wash away

How many more will it take?
Why do all these friends just and pass away?
I used to have a lot, but not so much these days

so it’s turned into a Whiskey day
Mourn my friend who passed away
how much longer will it take
till the hurt is gone?

I guess that’s what scares me most
when I see that holy ghost
He smiles and plays the host
like a party on the lawn

How many more will it take?
Why do all these friends just and pass away?
I used to have a lot, but not so much these days

Raise a glass and go to sleep
Pray the Lord my soul to keep
May if be a long long time
Till we finally meet
Until we finally meet

I just read the manifesto. I WISH I had read it the day I joined here before ever posting anything. I jumped in head first, bringing the spirit of another forum I've been a member of for 10 years. The atmosphere at that forum is a wide open free for all. Brad's manifesto hopefully would've shown me I was at a different place requiring more than just a modicum of behavior modification. For that I apologize. It's always a sad day when someone passes way too young who had so much more to offer. I'm on another forum that had two suicides in the brief time I've been there. In case anybody is wondering what kind of sites I frequent, it's a men's health forum. For everyone who has just lost a personal friend in Slipkid, sincerest condolences for your loss. I watched a few youtube videos of him performing a long time ago and was impressed with him then. Obviously he was a big presence here whose absence will long be felt. RIP.

I tried for years to get him to come out to ski at Sun Valley, which we had each done when we were kids. I gave up, figuring that he quit skiing for reasons that were much less serious. This may be another one of those weekends for reliving memories, which, as Bill's song says, happens too often these days.

Happy Trails, Brad. We'll be seeing you.
This one really hurts.
It is indeed a whiskey day.

Wow this leaves me kinda speechless. I met him for the first time last year at NAMM. Funny thing was I was just wondering last week if he was coming this year.

I am at least glad to say I met you Brad. We had some good laughs last year and you were fun to hang with. I am so sorry to hear of this. My condolences to his family.
