It is how the factory made it, but I can take another picture later this weekend so it is easier to see. In the meantime, here's a picture John sent in to the tribute site, and you can see this "halo" there as well. I noticed a weird aspect to the photos posted and only wanted to bring it up for discussion.

Joined: January 2014 Posts: 78 Location: Boise, Idaho | I understand Dan, and I wasn't even going to chime in on this thread until it was suggested that the bridge had popped off and was reglued. I'm trying not to jump to the defensive as I've heard nothing but great things about you, and it just now feels that I have to prove something I know not to be true, which is difficult as I am not as much of an expert as many other people on here are. So I'm not sure what to say, because it is there, but to me it is not an indication of damage or of the bridge being reglued as it wasn't. I honestly never even noticed it until it was brought up here. So I looked a bit closer and noticed that in the right lighting it also shows up in a couple of other locations as well. So maybe it just left the factory this way? I also reached out to John Mitzel this week to make sure, and he confirmed that in his possession nothing was removed, replaced, adjusted, or repaired. So the only owners of this Parlor were John and I, and neither of us had anything removed, replaced, adjusted, or repaired. So I’m not quite sure what else to say now. I realize I'm still somewhat of a new member here, and if my character/honesty was ever in question please refer to Mark in Boise or Nancy who know me quite well. And please feel free to contact John as well if you know him to confirm any of this. Though I know he doesn't hop on here as he once did. (That's also a dog hair below the bridge in the first picture, not a crack or scratch, in case anyone was wondering) (IMG_0475.jpg) (IMG_0476.JPG) (IMG_0477.JPG) (IMG_0478.jpg) Attachments ---------------- IMG_0475.jpg (100KB - 0 downloads) IMG_0476.JPG (99KB - 0 downloads) IMG_0477.JPG (97KB - 0 downloads) IMG_0478.jpg (100KB - 0 downloads)

As you say, it's probably just the combination of camera angle, lighting, reflectivity and color of the surface that makes this visible. FWIW, bridges pop off sound boards and are re-glued with alarming regularity. This isn't a bad thing. In fact, that's why Ovation started bolting down the bridges on stained wood tops. The bridge popped off my 1619 one night after I re-built it. It made a heck of a racket, scaring the pet birds and sleeping wife. I wasn't questioning your character or honesty. GLWTS. Dan
