Sold the green CC and the Trekker and the result was enough cash for this near mint 92 1768 - with a 80s brown hard case also in near mint. It finally arrived today and is such a perfect cutaway companion to my 1718 Sunburst!! Best $450 I have spent thus far!! Action is low, all is near perfect. Interesting playing it next to the 1718 - it has more trebel which I guess makes sence as its a cutaway...but wondering if anyone knows if this has a AA Spruce top of not. I personally LOVE the look of the knob. HA! And the dark of the burst is soooo dark! I LOVE it!

There were several 1768 sb on sale last year, 800/1100$.... better should have grabbed one, now they are all gone, no offers for months now.... VW.... hmmm, not that popular these days I guess...

I unstrung both the 1718 & 1768 then cleaned & "fed" the fretboards - DRY!!! then polished the soundboards and restrung. My *** the fretboards looks amazing now. So dry I fed twice then let sit overnight before polishing. I LOVE these two. - 1718 still my goto but looking forward to playing up the neck on the 1768... which was the year I was born...wait sorry that's 1968

And the sound..you are right, the cutaway Elite sounds "lighter" than the 1718, but in my eyes (ears..) more delicate, intimate with a lesser sustain but a very quick tone. And there´s only a few guitars that you can play with such a low action, my N768 is adjusted like a Gibson Les Paul. Did you try little lighter strings than on the 1718? The Elites love it. It´s one of the best guitars to sit on a sofa and play when it´s raining ouside. And here in Germany you would have had to pay at least! double the price. You lucky Americans, you cannot leave your home without stepping on a cheap nice guitar....

The 1718 of course still has greater sustain and slightly deeper voice. I did notive when cleaning and restringing the 1768 - it has a small crack running beside the bridge to the right of it. It feels like it maybe more than just a finish crack - I will keep an eye on it and see if it needs to be stabilized- has no effect on the sound I can tell. i also noticed its missing the strap button on the bottom - and the top strap button is silver - but should be gold. Thinking I will be ordering a set from the MiniMother along with my new pickup and saddle for my 1718 T...
