These are pretty hard to find, but here's a place online that says they have them in stock for $35. They're in Australia , so shipping can be steep, but like I said these are tough to find. So if you're interested. It really is a great book, I think it's well worth the money.

Appears the shipping is more than the book, to the US.

I found one on Amazon, for 14.99, it was missing the dust jacket, but the book is in excellent shape, and it is signed by CW Kamas II.

I have to make time to sit down and read it, it has been so highly recommended!

No wonder it was so cheap, it was signed by that guy.

What ever happened to the traveling OFC copies? Did they finally retire somewhere warm?

THAT was a great ol' time OFC thing.
But all it took was just one person to de-rail the whole thing.
.
Some of you might remember, the goal was to have as many OFCers sign comment in the book then have it end up with the mucky-mucks at the MotherShip to remind them of their rabid followers.
.
As they say... the best laid plans of Mice and Men often go astray.

Nancy, you said yours was missing the dust jacket, was it a hard cover version? Hard or soft cover, 14.99 is a great deal! You have to read the book, it really has a lot of great info, history and awesome pictures in it. You'll love it!

I would encourage any Ovation lover who doesn't have this book to seek one out. There are still some new copies that surface from time to time, like the link I posted, but these are getting harder and harder to find.

Yeppers, Navy Blue Hardcover, Gold Seal for Limited Edition up in the corner. Excellent Condition! Signed in Purple Marker! Tony had highly recommended that I read it, so I was thrilled to find such a nice, inexpensive copy! Everytime I sit down to read it, the birds start calling to be held and played with. Now that I can go out on the deck, I can read it out there, I can't wait to get into it!!

At $75 AUD it comes out to about $58 US. That's still a better price then what's on Amazon at the moment. Maybe I'll put it in my wish list and check back.

Wow Nancy, that's cool that you found a signed hardcover version for so cheap! I often see the hardcover versions going for $200.

I am the Queen of Shopping (but usually not for girly things... guitars, model horses, old tractor parts...) My Dad and brother always give me their shopping lists, and have me *find* the best price on things they need! Hunting and Bagging at it's Best!

I will keep an eye out, and when I see one at a good price, I will post it here for everyone!

Yeah, Slipkid, I'm hip. I sent my copy out into the world in 2009, and it had traveled to 3 continents, that I'm aware of. I should would like it back, eventually. MWoody even made shipping boxes for the 2 copies that stopped off in his baliwick.
I wonder if it's possible to put out an APB on those critters?!

There was a time when these wonderful books could be purchased at half of retail. When I bought my anniversay edition model featured on the cover, mthe seller asked if I wanted the book and he threw it in the deal for free. I think Miles gave one away at one of the PNW gatherings years ago. For Ovation aficianados, this really is a must have addition to the collection. And they look pretty good hanging on the wall, too.

Fortunately for me the shipping is much more reasonable. For a change!

You guys are Right!! (No, I am not surprised! And don't expect me to tell a bunch of guys that they are Right too often, I would get stoned by all the other women in the world!)

This book is great! I always appreciated Ovations for the sound, and the looks, now I have a deep appreciation for all that went/goes into them. The years of development using such innovative design, and intensive testing methods! This guitar never was just a 'build 'em, and sell 'em' product, it was the labor of love, by a genius with an intense desire to create something that was the BEST that could be made. I have a whole new appreciation of the what goes into these Guitars, and what I am holding in my arms. Kudos to all involved in having the guts and ingenuity to do what their hearts told them to do, and keep pursuing the dream even if at times, it was not the easiest way to go!

I HIGHLY recommend this book!! Thank you Tony for telling me about it, and to read it!!

I've mentioned a few times that I have one of the books but there have been no requests made to my knowledge. I would be more than willing to move it along if someone would like to send me their information. Sincere apologies if I've derailed anything...

I've been MIA for awhile, good to be back!!

I'll have to check but I think I might have one of the "well travelled" books as well.

I also think I may have a few spare copies.

Back when this started, I believe the common thoughts were that one of the books would be given to the factory...well, at least we could give one to John Budny for safe keeping until we see what DW does.

Have I seen your copy? If not, send it to me. One of them made it here for a Gathering, but I don't believe I got to put anything in it, and it left at the end of the gathering of course.

At least I don't remember putting anything into it. Anyway, of all people I probably should make a contribution to it so I'll send you my info....
