This one is a Beauty, Mint, and Fresh smelling even!!!! No mold, no cracks, and even came in a box!!!! It was Perfectly packed, and had the Humidipaks in it that I had sent to him to humidify while waiting to send. I *just* opened her, so tomorrow, she will get a polish, and play. She has brand new strings on her (how nice is that!) and after I polish her and the case up, all set to go!!! Thank you all for your help in getting her here safely, and putting up with my excitement!!! She is SO worth the wait! You were all correct, and I want to Thank You for sharing your expertise with me!!!! YES!!!!!! The Legend Ltd, the original "John Lennon" model, is the same guitar as the Patriot sans the decal. Seems the factory had a few more guitars than decals back in the late 70's. Still have it and love it.

I have owned a 1619 and a 30th Anniversary CS and the 1651 held its own against both of those...but all of them being A braced, deep bowl, premium topped bodies, maybe that is to be expected.

Tony noticed that the decal is flawed, there is no gold accenting, so the dates, drum, flagpole, and wheat is so faint that you can barely be seen. The red and blue are faint too, but I am still just thrilled!!! I am one of those weirdo's who names everything, they all have names and personalities.

They are both acoustic and both in A+ condition." Which one did you keep? I was really tempted to call Timm back then after #1 but had #320 (an a/e) at the factory getting a lot of work done on it (good disclosure by the seller, had him send it directly to Kim), as well as an acoustic #880. Sold #880 later but #320 stays...a wonderful story, as many of us have stories how the crew at the factory made the incredible happen. When Kim got the guitar, he didn't even ask-just threw out the case.

Later I tried to get #1 as well, but he stood pat. I've also kept an eye out for #1776, but have never found a clue about it. I would love to get that one. There's always hope though eh?

I got 76 in a trade from Craig Brodie (guitar broker, Fla) and he got it from Al Lazzari who used to be the production supervisor of the factory. He moved to fla when he retired and his family sold the instruments when he past. I had it and moved it to Patch. I don't recall if the 1776 was ever made. There were only going to be that many but I seem to recall that orders fell a little short. Doesn't mean that they wouldn't skip ahead and make the last one, I just don't recall, it was 39 years ago after all.

She is serving her tour of duty as one of my office guitars. (I rotate them through every so often.) The stencil looks just as good now as it did in the 2009 OFC Calendar. My wife loves this guitar. it has a cool history, unique aesthetics, and just in case no one has mentioned it before, fantastic tone!
