The extra surface area under the strings is the logical explanation for why 12 fretters seem to sound better than 14 fretters, all else being the same. One issue I've had with other 12 fretters is playing my occasional song that is up around the 12th fret. The cutaway on the 12 fret LAV Koas solve that issue.

I love the restyling and there is something special about the allure of having serial number one. Can't decide... possibly I could ask anyone who has played both of these your impressions? I have three more Dr. Conant 12 fretter slothead dreads spoken for and after they are shipped/paid for I will decide.
