Gather around ladies and gentlemen! Gather round I say!

I have, right here, at this very moment, items to confound and amaze! First and formemost, for your very fine perusal (provided your hands are clean of course), I have a rare and excellent historical tome detailing the little-known origins and rise of an iconic American guitar brand. A design that pushed guitarists to the limits of their imaginations! I defy you, the very people in this crowd, to convince me that they have never wondered about.....

The History of the Ovation Guitar!

My good people, believe me when I say that these books are hard to find, especially a gorgeous hard-cover edition such as this signed by the author himself! This one is in excellent shape with only minor wear to the dust cover, ready to provide historical tales and reading enjoyment for generations to come! Any Ovation history buff should have this book! But sadly, ladies and gentlemen, I have only the one available. Which of you will have it? That is indeed the question my friends. Which of you will have it?

Due to the rarity of this fine piece, I'm going to push the price ceiling a bit and place this one at $1500 + shipping.

Now I know....I know.....(Settle down son, you'll make a spectacle, and that's my job not yours.)

I realize that this price is approaches the upper limit for an item like this, but I believe in integrity and value, so I'll tell you what I'm willing to do! This is going to hurt me to the very core of my professional being, but in order to add a little value to the arrangement, I will throw in, ABSOLUTELY FREE OF CHARGE, a gen-u-ine, 1996, American-made, original, full-sized, OVATION 1768-7LTD Elite. Yes indeed ladies and gentlemen, this is one of the very few guitars built specifically to commemorate Ovation's 30th Anniversary and has come to be known as the famous "Book Elite" because it is the VERY instrument featured on the cover of "The History of the Ovation Guitar"! 100 of these guitars were built, making them tough, tough, tough to find for sale nowadays!

(We pause now for a brief moment as the OP rapidly yet professionally displaces the wannabe carnival barker, and his soap box, via the sense of impending doom that only a well-brandished shillelagh can properly instill in a man while loudly muttering various colorful adjectives expounding upon the person's patronage and how the heck did he get in here anyway?!........)

Ok then, back to serious business! (Who was that guy?)

The guitar is in very good shape for nearly 20 years old. (It's hard to believe it was that long ago isn't it?)

There are two small dings in the top that can be seen in the photos below. There is also a ding on the back of the neck that is more visible than palpable. That's it for blemishes, and they are TINY!

The action is good, the neck is straight, there's almost no fretwear, the top is flat, the looks are gorgeous and the sound even moreso! It has it hardshell case in very good condition inside and out and has a fresh set of medium strings on it. (Mostly because that's the only spare set I had at the moment.)

If you've read this far, first thank you for your patience and second, you already know what you are really buying here. An excellent condition "Book" Elite AND a rare copy of the book itself. So to reiterate:

$1500 + shipping. I will ship overseas if arrangements can be agreed upon. (It wouldn't be the first time.) I might consider partial trades, but it would have to be something pretty out of the ordinary. Still, you never know.....

Since someone asked, and since this piece seems to have lost some steam, I am willing to sell JUST the guitar and keep the book.

I'm willing to take $1350 for the guitar by itself.

Frankly, I didn't think this would last a day.....tough times all around I guess.
