I got one with the chocolate covered strawberries my wife got me for Valentine's Day. It warned me not to stab myself or eat the scewers that the strawberries were on.

To me, who live in a state where a great many car accidents are caused by our numerous not-so-visible deer, the sign does make sense (even if the concept of "invisible cows" strikes me as funny...) --Karen

Joined: October 2006 Posts: 5575 Location: big island | jimmy ~i've posted this info here previously but since you asked: back about 1790, george vancouver , a canadian explorer, "blessed" king kamehameha of hawaii with several head of cattle, which were released from vancouver's ship to graze openly on this island , known as hawai'i or "big island". king kamehameha placed a kapu or taboo on the cattle, which meant humans were not to bother them and should stay away from them. over the next several decades and into the reign of the next couple of hawaiian kings, the cattle became overpopulated and pesty, destroying crops and gardens of the hawaiian peoples. the reigning king back in the 1820's decided something needed to be done about the problem but the hawaiians didn't know how to handle the cattle and most were afraid of them. the king sent for vaqueros from southern california to come and herd and corral the cattle and also teach hawaiians how to do so. many of these cowboys brought guitars and portuguese braguinhas (small 4 string guitars) with them. the hawaiians are extremely musically inclined and were immediately infatuated over these instruments they had never seen or heard before. they called the braguinha "uku-lele", which translates jumping flea. after the vaqueros had taught the cowboy trade and gifted their hawaiian friends with several instruments, they left for the mainland. the hawaiian cowboys became known as paniolos. many did not learn how to tune the guitars and ukuleles and they began turning the pegs this way and that until they found a sound that they liked and thus hawaiian "ki ho'alu" or slack key was formed. there are many, many tunings some of which were guarded secrets of certain families. today you can buy alternative tuning books and many of those tunings originated here in the islands. for the last two years now, slack key has been recognized and awarded at the grammys! if those cows were invisible back then, we might have never heard a don ho or israel kamakawiwo'ole . so blame the ukulele on the cows or on a mad explorer from canada...

Have a stove (or similiar) in the courtroom, light it and tell them to put their hand in th flame, if they do it, their an IDIOT and henceforth deserve the money. the insurance companies could save billions!!! :D :D bye
