Hi All,
We've seen this product, talked about it etc.. The manufacturer of this widget sent me a note and is offering a discount to OFC members who are interested.
Ovation Guitar Standing Stabilizer

I'm not sure what the discount is, but I thought it was a nice gesture and told him I would make this announcement. He didn't want to just come on and have his first post be hawking his product, but I'm guessing as a player he'll start posting soon. How can he resist???

how about just telling people how to use good guitar technique and save your $$$$ to spend on more guitars

Actually, I think the idea is rather brilliant. I just don't feel a need for one. I've played Ovations for over 35 years and they feel just fine to me standing or sitting....

Unfortunately there are many that have not learned good techniques, hence the market.

I want one for my Grandbabies. Those round backs gives 'em trouble. I'll probably put the S.O. on my CC57.

I don't think I want one, but I applaud the classy way this gentleman went about offering them to us.

You can get the same effect using a piece of siding from your "double-wide" and some duct tape!

Speaking of classy! If you only have a single wide, does that make you not classy?

It just means you have half as much material to work with.

No problem with slippage. I play sitting down, making a tougher target for all the rotten fruit & beer bottles.

He probably wants to be able to say "Recommended by The Ovation Fan Club..."

Now, do y'all want people to think that we can't hold our O's?

Anyway... Let us know Vince.
My 1718 wants to slip around on me...

You guys play standing up??? I'm going to try that tonite and if it works out I selling my "slip grip"! If it doesn't I'll stick a chunk of velcro on my belt buckle and another on the shell back...

I ordered it Friday, it showed up today. Install is a breeze, took 2 minutes. It works very well. I like it. We'll see if I still like it in a month.

This changes everything. I'm no longer thinking of selling my LX to buy a contour.

Thanks Tom.
