I just looked at my OFC calendar and realized that history is being made as Good Friday is on a Saturday this year.....

Either that or the 10,000 posts and a new name could be signes of the apocalypse.

I wonder if I will be able to keep my guitar when it comes?

Easter this year is Sunday March 23, 2008.

As you may know, Easter is always the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon after the Spring Equinox (which is March 20).

This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify Passover, which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.

Based on the above, Easter can actually be one day earlier (March 22) but that is pretty rare.

This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives! And only the most elderly of our population have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above!). And none of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier!

Here's the facts:

The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now). The last time it was this early was 1913 (so if you're 95 or older, you are the only ones that were around for that!).

The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year 2285 (277 years from now). The last time it was on March 22 was 1818. So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this year!

Did someone mention Good Friday?

The calculation for Easter is even more involved than that, according to something I just read this morning and didn't understand. Apparently they miscalculated when the first full moon of Spring would be, but they stayed with the old schedule.

Did you also know that the Bishops in Ireland moved St. Patricks day this year because it coincides with holy week.

And Thursday night and Friday will be on Tuesday night instead

Easter is just one of the Sundays in March or April in my monthly book that has Easter written on it. Usually pretty easy to get tee times since many don't play that day.

All I've seen on the calendar is the pics. Kind of like when one of the roommates in college had a Playboy calendar and we never paid any attention to the dates. You mean you can use that as a calendar?

( No -Offence meant )
Not much offense taken... ;)

what`s with all the knowledge ..??
After 20 years in the US Air Force and another 21 in the industrial/instrumentation/electronics/automation field I guess I've demonstrated an ability to learn. :D

..now I`m the one who `s flabbergasted , ..does not happen easy..
...hence the moniker 'HumblePie'! ;)

I think 2ifbyC became enlightened at the same time he became a UKII owner.

Coincidence? I think not.
