| I dont even know if there is such thing, but what is the best value-ed guitar for under $50? Like something that is at least playable.
Reason I ask is because I have a nice 1778t, but this kind keeps taking it to play...and it's so hard to get him to stop. he takes it from my room as if its his simply because I taught him how to play the guitar. I get mad sometimes because he mistreats it (hits his random desk and bed) and also because he takes it when I want to play it sometimes. And i guess whats worse is that he takes it without asking me and I get super mad and just sit in my room and fume. I know a 1778t isn't the most expensive guitar, for a poor college kid who used his own money to buy it...it counts for a lot=/
So yeah, Im just looking for a very cheap playable guitar to give this guy for his birthday so he has no excuse to come snooping in my room.

Location: Jet City | I bought a desert/beach guitar that seems to play decent. It's an older AE (I wanted a cutaway) Mitchell. I believe it's a Guitar Center brand.
Anyway, I paid less than $100 at a pawn shop, and that's probably the place to start shopping anyway. |

You might be better off putting an ad in the paper stating you'll pay $50 bucks for a good used guitar. That way someone hard up for cash will bring one to you. You may be pleasantly suprised with the results.
Hey! I might try that one out myself. Could be a way to raise cash for another GOOD guitar. |

I have a 1778T and it cost me more than a week's pay, also more than a month's rent...
So Yes, that is an expensive guitar!

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | I can barely have dinner for $50. Good luck finding anything, and let us know how you do. If you score something that cheap, then it will likely play and sound like it, in which event it will fall far short of your kid's expectations and he will soon be back after yours. $100 to $150 is probably more reasonable. |

2) Tell him to get a job and save up for a 1778T of his own. You could volunteer to assist him when he gets his cash together. In the mean time I'd mention I saw him mishandling yours, and ask that he not use it anymore.

Reminds me of a few years ago. One of my brother's in law kept borrowing his dad's (my father in law) nice carpenter's level. So that Christmas, his dad bought him a level of his own.

| Hahaha, maybe I should buy that Roland guitar. After owning my 1778t and hearing the beautiness...I have resolved to get a couple more ovations before going back to box guitars...but man...
But its a ROLAND!! Got to be worth a lot. (at least cost a lot) hahaha |

| I probably should just tell him to stop taking it. Maybe I will..but 2 problems for me,
1) He is pretty big (and my roommate for next 2 years and this year because we already signed contract for apartment)
2) This would...for some reason not play cool by him. He would get very mad and do something stupid like come in when I'm not here and break my guitar. Oh yeah, and the doors don't lock (not within the rooms) |

Location: South of most, North of few | I agree, no matter how big this guy is, if you approach him with the "that is yours, and this is mine" attitude he will probably back off. Once he knows you're serious about it, you'd be surprised how much respect you can gain. All of the bully's I've seen will only push around the people that will let them. If that doesn't work, revert to Cliff's technique.

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I'm not a big guy either, but I learned a really cool secret sometime about hmmm, say 7th grade. Just kick him real hard in the nuts! Then beat the living crap out of him while he's crying like a little girl. After that he will greatly respect you.
The other alternative ... store the guitar at your parents house for the next two years. |

on a more serious note, i think you guys are right. Ill just show some less passive aggression and be more firm about it and see how it plays out. Ill probably also bring one of my cheaper guitars to school next semester if it is still a concern.
