I'm sorry everyone for being out of touch recently. But I simply couldn't bring myself to post this, and even now find it difficult to write even a short note.

Later this morning I will go with my family to sing my mother up. I ask you to please pray for my father as he continues the journey. And know that all of you have been in my thoughts this week.

Patrick

I'm so sorry to hear this. She was obviously much loved and if her son was any reflection of her, she must have been quite a lady. You and your family are in our prayers.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. In the coming days try to remember there are no right or wrong feelings. Just let it happen. Don't be afraid to laugh if you feel like laughing. Don't be afraid to excuse yourself from the room in a hurry if need be. There is no timeline or any level of predictability.

My best thoughts are with you. I lost my mom, a wonderful mom, 3 years ago in June. So, I understand.
For me, I learned the earth keeps spinning, and a sun keeps coming up every morning. It'll never be quite the same; however, I am forever blessed to have had such a loving, caring woman for my mother.

Hang in there.

So sorry to hear this Patch... you posted it on what would have been my Mom's birthday. On a Monday afternoon five years ago a neighbor in her apartment complex called me and said her lights were on all night the entire weekend and she didn't answer the door for little neighbor girls who liked to visit her. I called right away and got no answer and rushed to her place somewhat knowing what awaited me. I found her in her shower and turned off ice cold water still spraying on her. That hit me out of the blue... we had no advance warning anything was wrong with her. She would have been 77 this birthday. My only niece recently had her first baby and was heartbroken her grandma AND her Mom (my sister who passed with us all at her hospital bedside a few years ago) neither one were there for the birth. These events are an integral part of our humanity. My Dad died the same age as Elvis a few months before Elvis died. Every anniversary of Elvis' death I get reminded of it again. After all this time I can still plainly recall the sound of his voice. Take good care of your Dad bro. I remember being at a wedding where the preacher said "the only day in your life that will be more important than this one is when one of you will be standing over the other one in a box". Family is everything. I had the privilege as well of designing my mother's headstone layout and it is the prettiest in the cemetery. Take care.

Patch- My condolence. I lost my mom; a wonderful mother, 4 months ago in July. We will meet our love ones again.

An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
