These good news are rare enough since few years to share it with you all.
Yes, they still build great guitars in New Hartford and not only wonderful "Guild" models. 
My Friend Joël is the proud owner of a fantastic Adamas Custom model since 2 weeks.
Just some words about this special model and its history.
Joël bought the original Adamas Slothead "Lilas" from Marcel Dadi in the 80's and he sold it few years later to another guy.
I asked him several times why he sold it but he never gave me a serious reply... 
As he was surely full of regrets, he decided to ask to the Factory (with the help a very well known Adamas seller...) to try to build a Reissue of this Legendary guitar.
The final result is very close to the Original model even if the color seems not to be exactly the same.
I'm sure that the color will change in the next years when she will be more aged. As always with Joël's guitars, you love or hate them but for myself, I really love this one!! Another great brick in the O's Story wall. Pics from the original Adamas "Lilas" are here. And the pics of the New "Lilas" are here. More than the guitar itself, the fantastic news is that they are naw able to build a Slothead with a 1 7/8 wide neck. I'm pretty sure that some other orders will follow in the future especially from the "French O's Connection"...  J

Location: Munich, Germany | To be true - these Slotheads, original or reissue, are some of the ugliest guitars that New Hartford has ever built. But this one here is the queen of uglyness. I have seen Adamas guitars in colors like poo, like rotten tomatoes, like poo that's a little bit more wet than the poo before, like baby drawers and... too ugly to describe it in my poor english. But this one is one hell of an ugly guitar. I bet it still sounds like they all sound: The best of the best! I was thinking similar thoughts as I skimmed the pictures but I was afraid to say it. The headstock design reminds me of a large vulva; maybe the designer was inspired by Georgia O'Keefe paintings. The color scheme works well with that theme. |

Paul, it's probably because Joël asked for this special label...
It's funny to read the different opinions about this guitar.
Ugly??? I can understand that some of you don't like this color.

Location: Right now? | I love everything about it but the color. Yikes ... My eyes ... Marcel's was a more muted color, more like blush and periwinkle-ish ... maybe 'cause it had the sparkles ... I just realised it is a slothead with 1 7/8" nutwidth!!!!! Now I have a lot of ideas..... maybe with a woven top cutaway contour bowl......or.....

They have to make models that will appeal to and be purchased by the masses. But a personal custom you order for yourself? You only have to please one person. It makes no difference what others say. If opinion is important, then order something they like. I say congratulations to Joel and here-here for individualism! |
