Usually when I get a new guitar I take pics, and post 'em and tell everyone about 'em.... But I haven't really brought too many new guitars into the fold recently.

That said, I've decided to re-take some photos and try out the new software's "Albums" section some. There have been loads of people that have joined this site since I quit posting pics, so I figured I'd introduce everybody to some of my favorites. We'll start off with a doozie, the 'Book Elite'. This one started off it's life belonging to some gas station dude, but it's on my wall now and going nowhere soon.

(copied this from my website, but it's quite possibly I copied someone else)

What’s a “Book Elite”?

In 1996 Ovation turned 30 years old. There was a “special” line built to commemorate the milestone which included not only the 6 string, but a 12 string, mandolin, mandocello, longneck, and a Viper. All were adorned with the same “bling”. The guitar was featured on the cover of Walter Carter’s “The History of the Ovation Guitar” and since then has been referred to commonly as, “The Book”.

I vote for Damon as the OFC's official photographer. Everything he shoots is absolutely stunning.

Love the book elites!

I just posted a couple of albums thinking I would do a similar thread, but I guess I don't have to now eh?

One thing I've noticed Damon (and anyone else): The old links to our web and ning pages that we included in our signatures have now gone digital greek. You can turn your name into a link now, but I haven't figured out yet how to insert a link into a signature.

patch, just go in and redo your signature with bbs code. here is mine, so change the all the { to [ and insert your link and name instead, and it should work. I had to change those symbols for the script to show up here in the post

I bought my Book Elite from a collector and was advised that it had never been played. I fixed that in a hurry. I probably paid way too much for it, but then again, that was some years ago when nobody was selling. I keep it displayed on the wall next to the hard cover version of the book. Each compliments the other.

Oh, goody. It's been awhile since I got to drool over those pictures. Damon, why don't you just fly down with your blanket and camera and take pics of my guitars? You can stay here until you're finished. If you don't want to sleep in the basement with the guitars, we have 3 spare bedrooms.

I've never had the chance to acquire a hard-cover copy of the Book, nor do I have space to hang all of my guitars (yet), but that doesn't mean I can't display my "Books" now and then.....

Unfortunately, that same gas station dude scribbled his name in my hard cover copy. Frickin' worthless now.

Patch, I want that Mando!

Mark, we've been looking to take a drive out your way, it almost happened last month. Be careful on your offers, I just might take you up on it.

You don't scare me, big boy. You won't top my first drop in, when Waskel showed up with his motorcycle helmet and leathers. I think SWMBO hid until he left.

If I had stopped in on my way back from Twin Falls instead, I could have offered her a ride on the bike.

Our first "date" was on my 1968 Yamaha Enduro 250. Don't think she's been on a motorcycle since. Popped a wheelie with her on the back and road it to the corner. Then turned and saw her mother glaring at us. Took her mom a long time to accept me. Now that our daughters have gone through that phase, I can relate.

Thanks Damon...I was thinking of the 5th photo in this grouping. (on the other hand, you may have other photos similar to this one that might be even better) I like the look down the fretboard at an angle...gorgeous!
