I have an idea in mind and it includes your used Acoustic guitar and bass strings... electric too... (Just "steel" please! Nylon is not part of the game)

I can't disclose the idea at the moment but, I will when, if and whether or not it actually works...

-The MOST useful strings will be:
Those that are cut "in-half" say, about the 9th fret and include both, the BallEnd and the "CurlyCues" at respective ends.

But- I'll take all strings, and please include the "CurlyCues" and the "BallEnds"

I propose that you send "sets" along in Coils, about the same size as a new set, wrapped in newspaper (yeah, I know there's gonna be a lotta "wild hairs" when coiled). When you have enough to fill a "9X11" envelope, send them along via the cheapest method.

Consider this a "Green" method of used string disposal!

If you are interested, please respond in the affirmative to this post and will contact you via PM or Email.

wow, this should have been 3-4 days ago.
I just changed out 5 sets of strings and they went out in yesterday's trash. I will be changing out 4-6 more sets over the next week or so, so count me in.

Jeff are you working on a steel version of the rubberband ball? Trebuchet ammo perhaps?

I had similar thoughts. Maybe some type of pocket cross-bow?

I usually save my used strings for a local guy who makes jewelry out of them (some pretty cool stuff). But I go through LOTS of strings, so I'm sure I could share some with you.

Perhaps a multi-holed cajun? Does the correct guess win a prize, Jeff?

Sure...

On the string front...
I will need, I believe the correct nomenclature is, "A Shitload." I can wait a few months, so send as much as you can over the next few months...

I've figured it out. Way to go Jeff! Absolute genius. I'm going to steal it and use it myself. The used string collection has started! Thing is, the way I go through strings I'll have enough in a coupla weeks without any help.

He wants to get our DNA from the strings and plant it at the scene a planned heist of a bunch of Ovation guitars.

His won't be there, of course, and we're a pool of likely suspects. Clever.
