Here's a rare chance... We've come by a rare OldGrowth maple which lost a HUGE limb, a "tree" in itself. If you know what "Old Growth" is, you will appreciate this wood. We've already milled some guitar back blanks and the wood is utterly magnificent. We will be milling blanks for backs, sides, tops and necks. If you are interested in getting some of this wood, or would like a custom cut, email me through this board. The wood will need to season and dry for a good number of months, so you'll need to wait for it but, it will be worth it. We nearly herniated ourselves getting it up on the mill. Just so y'all know, Acoustic flattop Tops, Backs and Side will be book matched and quarter sawn. Billets for solid bodies and neck will be specially selected.

I'll send you an email BTW, who says OFC guitars have to have carbon fiber tops? I know maple isn't the best top-wood, but I'm also partial to the laminated Collectors' Series ala the 99C and 02C. And I love, I mean LOVE, really nice quilted maple! ;) 'Course, I got no money to throw at all this pipe dreamin'. ![]()

As you are from that side of the pond, there might be an issue around nomenclature. "Sycamore" there is what we here call "Maple". "Sycamore" here is a variety of what you would call "Plane" there. In any case, "Sycamore" Maple and "Plane" do have uses as luthiery wood but, not necessarily the same applications. And I depends on which we are actually talking about, which is best done using latin.
