I wouldn't say "better". I've attempted a few more diverse things. Ukulele, mando, piano all done live in various settings. Amature to be sure, but at least made an attempt. I've also done a bit more fingerpicking. But definately not "better".

I'd say yes. When I focus on specific & new tasks, I do seem to get better. If I play the same old stuff in the same old way, I get the same old stuff the same old way.

'twas a good year learning diverse playing styles. if i'd had steady gigs all year, i probably would not have learned anything new.

Yes, I've gotten better. Youtube has helped by showing me alternate ways of playing songs, plus learn new ones. Youtube has also given me much greater confidence because there are so many bad players posting videos they make me look good. Stick to watching guys like fretkillr if you want to learn anything.

Probably, but if you want an independent opinion you should ask . . . well, I guess no one but me has heard me.

Guitar playing...probably not. Banjo playing, YES! Dango playing, yes. Singing, well, I'm doing more of it and people say it's good, but I don't think I'll ever be comfortable with it. But as an all round musician, I guess I have improved.

I've definitely improved.

Very similar to the above with an emphasis on the "learning" instead of just 'playing'.

Unfortunately, I've still got a few hundred "partials" up my sleeve too.

Not better or worse. Just different. I've heard tapes of myself playing in bands thirty years ago. I have no idea how I was doing what I was doing. I don't do it anymore. But I do stuff now I didn't do then. Comes out about even I guess.

Every "O" function that I attend expands my meager ability. Last year I attended 4 or 5, so yes, I have improved...if that's what you want to call it.
