a few weeks ago the wife and i purchased a "little martin" for my 23 year old stepson who has taken an interest in guitar. this is what he came home with today:

1989 ovation 1758-6
he did some manual labor for the guy who owned this wonderful guitar and this is how he was paid. it plays superbly and has no issues. the pearlized top's patina is very nice and makes it look like gold.

Just a few weeks from starting out on the guitar and he's already gotten a beautiful 12 string Ovation? It took me 30 years… ;)

He has good taste, that's a beauty. Have you explained to him that you need to play it for a few weeks to be sure that it is properly "broken in" for him? ;)

I prefer guitar homo, thanks.
We are at Lion Country Safari today, and I thought of Cliff when we drove past the llamas.

i've got a 21 year old stepson and the 23 year old both living with us now. no jobs. no unemployment. and someone stole the younger one's car two nights ago. police can't find it.

my wife and i are both in college, two daughters in preschool and now that there are no gigs we are living on my wife's income.

but we're happy!

How can they not find a stolen car on an island?!

Very nice guitar. I must say that your stepson obviously has good taste. I've never seen that model before.

If they're left out in light, they do that Randy, just like the white Les Paul Customs and Sg's do...also remember that this is a -6p with pearl in the paint...that along with the yellowing of the white gives you the gold...very nice...what a way to get paid...how does he like it?

he's a bit overwhelmed with it. he is just beginning to learn to play. after listening to me play my 1688 for the past few years, he got all excited when this 1758 became available. it plays as nicely as my 1688, just not as loud and bass warm.

I was talking to a cop on Norfolk Island (pop. 1800) and asked him how they do car chases on the twisty narrow roads. He said "We don't. Where are they going to go?". He then related how they solved a ram raid at the alcohol store. Yellow paint was found on the edge of the shop. They went to a young local and asked to see his yellow car. He said "How do you know it's mine?". They said "They only other yellow car on the Island belongs to a church minister".
