These Amelia Island visits are proving to be a bit more expensive than I seem to estimate.

Last year I came home with a very rare sunburst brazilian CW28. Way over the top but I attributed it to a one off opportunity. Now this year no sooner does the plane touch down in Phoenix and I stumble on another little sunburst gem. I ain't visiting Amelia Island again for a long time ...

It'll be here later this week and I'll let you know all about it. Sorry the back isn't round, but you know how it goes.

Dang. Just realized this is the same "violin burst" finish as the Tak430 I recently got. I must have some subliminal attraction to the color. Probably goes back to my days attempting to learn the violin.

Those tiger stripe pg look really nice on the violin bursts.

Is this your 1st C-10? Man I love the size, feel and sound of them. This one looks just like the C-10DB I got (remember the ugly couch photo) about a month ago. You're gonna love it!

Yeah, it's a C10-DLXDBSB.

I've got a Dread, OM, and C10. All sunburst.

That pickguard really sets this one off. I think it looks better than the Tak. You are "the man" Dave!

I'm glad I was blinded by Music's 1688 in Amelia, I never did try the Collings or the Nationals. Didn't even get a chance to try #35... :(

I've only played one Tak over the years that I liked, it was a black 12 string cutaway model made around '98-'99 timeframe. It was way more than I could afford in those days, so I never followed up on what model it was. Don't like the neck profile on any others I tried. One day maybe I will.

I believe it's a standard 1 11/16" neck.

Very nice get, Dave. I was watching that one, but ended up deciding to hold out for a CJ in that sunburst color. Glad you won it.

After seeing Bills collection plus the one I got and the pics of your 3, I am absolutely sold that Collings consistently makes the best looking sunbursts on the planet.

I would agree.

However, I would not get a maple guitar in sunburst, although what they make is very nice. If you're doing maple, you want to see all that flamey maple, right?
