Sound-wise, how does it compare to the 47 of 47 and OFC slothead (ding!)?

There was one of these at Amelia. Very nice. Somehow, Dave's guitars always look special. Maybe its the tuner buttons. Maybe its the Arizona sunshine, or his outstanding photography prowess. Every picture he takes is calendar material, and guitars like this are worthy subjects. Thanks for sharing your talent, Dave.

I think MusicMike's photos of the '08 are better. I've got something else up my sleeve for the calendar.

I don't know, all my stuff is stored away right now due to interior house painting. My gut feeling is that the '08 is at least on par with a typical Adamas I, maybe not quite in the league of the reissues and certainly not in the league of #42. I think Mike had similar conclusions. But they are all real close and all real good. The neck has a very nice feel to it and of course the contour bowl is wonderful. I think the perfect Adamas would have been the OFC guitar with a contour bowl.

Al and the factory did me a HUGE service on the neck and tuners. Well done and much appreciated. Overall the fit, finish and quality is 10+ on a scale of 10. Absolutely perfect. I've been critical when criticism was deserved, and I'll be the first to compliment when kudo's are earned. This guitar is really a crowning achievement of what the factory is capable of producing.

OK, I see the waverlys but what did you do to the neck (since I unfamiliar with the '08)

They drilled out a new neck for the tuners. You can retrofit them on a schaller drilled neck but it's a little kludgy. Dave

Safe to assume it's a wide neck?

Paul, a 1 3/4" neck is standard on the '08 collectors.

Where's the shorts and sandal reflections? Dave, you're slippin'! :)

Great pics of another beautiful guitar.

You should do a photo book with all those great pics: "The Tupperware Chronicles"!

Yeah, I know. These textured topped Adamas don't reflect. Sort of takes the fun out of things.

What IS that discoloration in the lower bout of these guitars? I'm seeing it a lot, I first thought it was a reflection, but it's on all of these guitars. It looks like a repair - but it obviously isn't, as it's a new guitar.
