I love 12 strings and think about buying one... I would like to know what your favourite Ovation 12 string is and why...

I've owned an Adamas 1885, 68 1115, 2-1758's, a couple of 1615s, 85 collectors 12(twice) and a 1618.... all were exceptional 12's.

I personally liked the 1885 the best for comfort, and the rebuilt shiny bowl 1115 for pure OOOMPH...rumble and jangle.

the 1758's have a more unique piano like tone and are very attractive guitars as well the two I've owned were both bursts.

if it has 12 strings on it, and says Ovation/Adamas AND made in USA on it.... you won't be disappointed.

I don't believe anyone builds a better sounding, reliable or durable 12 than the guys up in CT.

Glenn

For acoustic tone, volume and a total 12 string acoustical experience, YES! I love my 1115-4 and 1615-1... both BOOMERS.

Plugged in... I'll leave to more knowledgeable members.

Bob, you and I know what the best one is. For others that haven't heard, the 1758 is my favorite. The Pacemaker is next, and the GC comes in after that.

Yup, except I prefer my 1688-8 #whatever the f*#% it is. The original Adamas 12 strings are flat out, the cat's ass.

Wish I liked Adamii 6 strings as much......

I like my 1598, but admittedly haven't sampled more to ahve a broader opinion..

1. 1688
2. 1538 (mine will be in my will)
3. 1615 or 1115

You can find the 1615/1115 pretty readily, and for not many $$. Probably the best bang for the buck 12-string out there.

I'm with The Ol'Trader except for #3 I've not played a GC so I guess My #3 would be my 41 year old Martin 12-20 slothead.

I would love to try a UTE 12 string.

this one...and not because I'm looking to trade it...
1756
;)
Seriously, every Legend and higher O or Adamas 12 I have played is better than any Guild or Taylor I have ever picked up.
BUT...I prefer a deep bowl, non-cutaway because I play unamplified alot.

Bob, you have absolutely no sense of humor. Plus if you sell it to TJ, he'll just resell it in a few weeks. Look what happened to your 1719 30CM. It now has a home where it's appreciated. You need to skip the middleman with the 1758. And remember, Jim is a drummer.

All true, but at least he has a palm tree and can take pics! Besides, just think, he sells what he buys without charging for a 'TJ set up' fee and new strings...

My favorite is my 6759 with the Optima. Not as loud as a lot of others mentioned here, but a very sweet tones and very chimey. Plays like butter. Same action and feel as my Deacon 12. I prefer the natural neck, and the mid-bowl makes it very easy to hold and play. And I like bling, including an inlaid abalone rosette.

My Deacon 12. I honestly don't think there's a better electric 12 out there.

I once had a CL 12 (1759) dark burst. Lost it in a house fire. That will always be my favorite. Now I have a Pacemaker; it's very nice, but not the same thing at all.
