Either Stephen is a very good salesman, or I'm just too easy, because I don't remember him talking me into it. We had a few email exchanges, then I came over and tried a bunch of very nice wood back guitars and talked about guitars and other stuff like old friends. Then it suddenly appeared in the case. It survived the first trial--SWMBO noticed it and said she thought I didn't bring a guitar. I reminded her that I said I wanted to have room to bring it back. After a short fit about my expensive habit and a reminder that we may have some big medical bills next month, things are back to normal. I'll go see how well it matches her car and take some pictures. Doubt it will help, but it won't hurt. And Stephen, the one "Catholic" thing we didn't discuss last night was the guilt. I was feeling very "Catholic" this morning. But I do love this guitar.

You must be lucky for me Mark....I just sold another one about an hour ago (and no....there is no commission, kickback, reduction, etc.) Just a thanks and come again anytime!

To me, Adamii always sound like wood topped Ovations but on steroids (which as Manny Ramirez can tell you, is bad news). Not better, not worse, just "is". Now having said that, the 47 RI is one of the absolute best Adamii that I have ever played. If you gotta have an Adamas, you couldn't do better. The OFC'er (ding!) is just under it with everything else below (not very damned far below) it. The original slotheads, well, they're in a catagory by themselves......

I got, "If you take it now you can save shipping, and you've heard all those shipping stories." "Can I trust you?" might have been the most unexpected. I don't remember how I responded, but I should have said, "you better hope so." Did he pull the "Take it home, try it out, no pressure" line on you? Sucker. ...I fell for it twice. I can't do comparisons, because I'm still in Keystone for the week. I couldn't begin to compare an Adamas to an 87C. There's just a different sound from the graphite tops. I couldn't tell the difference between Tony's OFC and 47, although he could. My OFC is pretty heavy on the bass, so the comparison should be interesting. Any differences that I hear could be attributed to strings and shims. I'm not that subtle. I'm more "this one's red, that one's blue." SWMBO starts radiation treatments when we get back, so we're staying close to home till mid August. If all goes well, I'll be able to pay Stephen, change my sig line, and if you Portland guys would have another NW Gathering for late summer or early fall, maybe I could bring some over so you could compare for yourselves.
