So what song are you working on ?

For me today it's Pancho and Lefty.

Not much to learn, just a few chords and some words I suppose, but there's a lot of feeling in it:

Just learning the last section of A Waltz For Leah (Adrian Legg).

I have now settled upon the 13 tunes for the album so really need to add the final polish (critically focus upon any less than perfect parts) to them in preparation for the recording.

I'm going to try and not learn anything new until these 13 are recorded though that's a bit like saying I'm not going to buy any more guitars...

[With this one the force is strong and the will power weak]

Dweez, I know you are fooling around with home recording, but will you go to a studio for the final recording of the album?

Finally smoothing out the last part of the solo on Hello Mary Lou. Can't do what James Burton did, but I've got a version of it that I think captures the feeling. Had the first part of it for a long time and finally worked out the last part. Now it's just committing it to muscle memory.....

Johnny Cash's version of Hurt. One of the easiest songs to play, but I haven't memorized the words.
I Loved Her First. The daughter I was learning it for just broke up with her boyfriend, so it's on hold.
Some revisions to Classical Gas. Same notes, just learning it like Mason Williams played it.
Always a couple more Croce tunes.
Cat's In the Cradle--just started.

Paul Gilbert's "Silence Followed By A Deafening Roar". It may be a bit beyond me, but I should learn something.

Summer Breeze... Seals and Crofts.
It's funny that I can learn the music faster than the words. Or at least I can remember the music longer.

If -- Bread
Times -- Tenth Avenue North
By Your Side -- Tenth Avenue North

The picking in these three songs has really helped my right hand technique, as all I typically did was strum (and a little bit of scales and lead).

The pretty gal that introduces your song also does one of my very favorite songs. Easy to play and sing. BTW, Willie Nelson does them both.
