Having had the opportunity to play all sorts of gigs over the years, the most enjoyable thing I did was to compose and perform original music for theatrical productions.

Sometimes it was just writing a song that someone else sang on stage, but the real fun was doing a score of theme and incidental music that was used throughout the performance. Doing this on the computer, I had a whole symphony at my disposal, interspersed or combined with actual recorded performance. My only audience was the director. When I was done I gave him the disc and that was that.

No hauling equipment, no hecklers, no off the wall requests. Yeah, what I really want to do is jingles for the Weather Channel. Me and 96,000 other guys.

Having an audience of more than one,....and not have them running the other way.

Then . . . 1963, Hollywood Bowl, sell-out, danced with Danny Kaye.

Today . . . if I could just keep up with Matt, Temp or Debanjo on anything they do.

So you're coming to SSSJ after all, Randy? Singin' with Otto at Maggie Valley is pretty close.

I don't reach to high as I'm not that "talented". So, playing and sing a few songs with some of you all at the SSSJ might be pretty cool! :D

I have outgrown my desire to be a rock star. I'd settle for playing I Loved Her First for my daughters' weddings, and being able to do it with a straight face. That would require a personnel change from the current situations.

Mine WAS 33 year ago this August . They day my wife and were married. I wrote the song played for the reflection after communion and a song I sang to her after we were married.

Won't get any better......

My favorite gigs are when I play with my kids, but it usually is only a song or two either in church or at one of Sara's shows.

The ultimate for me would be to be in a full band supporting my girls out front. My son would be in the band, too, and we'd be on tour playing larger venues with lots of screaming teens.

...sitting in with Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks and the rest of the Allman Brothers at the Beacon.... and being able to keep up with them and actually add something nice to the mix.

Thank you, Daniel, for your kind words! Sometimes I feel like I'm just spinning my wheels. Other times I feel like I'm making small progress. Very small progress.

Nice scenery. If only they wouldn't have built that stage and put all those people there.
