Time to impose a master GAS management plan?

First, I’m out of room. Anything new has to be stored out of sight, or has to replace something that will then get stored out of sight. Therein lies the problem. I like to see my stuff. All of it. Second, there’s no rational need. I already have an absurd amount of stuff. Third, SWMBO has just about had enough. Like doing corners on a motorcycle, you can push into a lean only so hard before the hard parts start scraping off. She isn’t about to say no to me, but the consequences will be predictable and punitive. Fourth, there are many more important and useful things I can and should be doing with my financial resources. Accordingly, my new plan is to stop going after (1) rare or bizarre one-offs, (2) duplicates of models that I already have, (3) fancy limited edition must-haves that from time-to-time show up for sale here or elsewhere, and (4) historically significant items with wonderful tone or impossibly bright illumination. Instead, I’ve decided to limit my interest only in gear that truly serves as an upgrade over what I currently own. To that end, I’ve made a list of items that I consider to be absolutely essential to complete my guitar bandroom. I’ve spent the last month reviewing and editing this list, looking carefully at each specific item, considering cost versus benefit or value, and removing lots of things that no longer measure up to my self-imposed absolutely essential threshold. My new plan is that only if and when something from that specific list becomes available will I consider going after it. I will dutifully ignore anything and everything else that might otherwise appeal to my GAS tendencies. I'm set and ready to implement my new plan. Now, the bad news . . . there’s something like 17 guitars, a half dozen amps, eight pedals or preamps, six neon signs, four banners, and two custom amp cabinets remaining on that list. Now what?

I liked the motorcycle analogy, but I was waiting for a list of the stuff you were going to sell because you have duplicates. Some of those cheap Ovation signs would be nice. I think you should keep the extra Fender Acoustisonic, just so you can demonstrate the stereo preamps in Ovations.
