Finally came in after what seemed like an eternity yet was only 3 months, UMGF custom. 00 12 fret slot head, ambertone spruce top, quilted mahogany back and sides. Sounds real sweet for a new one. Hopefully I'll get to spend some time with it and let it blossom. Didn't even clean it up before the pics, so don't mind the dust.

She's beautiful, TJ; I don't usually be jonesin' for wood boxes, but that is one lovely lady!

Thanks all, I did get to play it a little tonight, and I can say it is VERY punchy and LOUD for such a little body. Definitely not as big a sound as a dred, but very clean and full. I remember everything I loved about my last 00 in this one and I'm sure it's only going to get better with age. I do have to say, this is probably the most beautifully crafted Martin I have owned. I can't find a single flaw. Very happy with this one!

I particularly like the way they got the finish to simulate grass in places....

Oops, never mind...

Seriously Nice Guitar Jim! You might think about keeping this one...

Beatiful guitar. I love that body size. I also have 0018 12 fret Martin. But mines a little older, built in 1914....

Well done Jim. Congrats on your new guitar !! Beautiful instrument.
It's adirondak spruce top, right ?
BTW the label says "UNUM NON SATIS" (latin) that means "ONLY ONE IS NOT ENOUGH". Soo, Jim, you need to get another one of this at the soonest ;)

This is my first venture into the land of 3k, so I think one will have to be enough for a while at least. It is a stunningly good sounding guitar, and has the looks to match. BTW, the top is Sitka.

It's just a number. Like holding your breath. If you can hold it for a minute, then it'll be easier next time to hold it for a minute and a half. 5k will be a given.

If I were a better, or more dedicated player, that may be true. (it also takes cubic $) As I've said on numerous occasions, I'm not a good guitar player, I just dabble in it. I appreciate good craftsmanship tonal value, and artistic design, but with my somewhat limited guitar funds, I think I'll stay in the kiddie pool. :D

That's about as deep as it gets for me. The pool seems to keep getting bigger, but not any deeper. On the other hand, I keep learning more songs that I wanted to learn years ago, but never could figure out. I prefer to think I'm getting better because of all these guitars I have. Still can't improvise, but my memorizing skills are improving.
