'Treat people as you yourself would like to be treated' (or for the afore-mentioned praise musicians who would probably know it better as 'Do unto others...'). So many of the confrontations here start when things that are innocently said or done are taken completely out of context (intentionally or unintentionally...) and people start going out of their way to make a point or rub someone's nose in it. Maybe it's a 'Canadian thing', but I find more often than not that it's HOW something is said more than the actual intent that sets off these confrontations. I would be the first to admit that a majority of the members here probably know WAY more about Ovations than I do, have WAY more disposable income than I do, play better than I do, have WAY nicer guitars etc etc... but ... several of them are also full-on RUDE and discourteous to other members a fair amount of the time and that is totally unnecessary. I am sure they wouldn't behave like that in their day-to-day business or social lives ('cause they'd likely be getting punched out a lot of the time...). It doesn't cost anybody ANYTHING to be polite to people... Try it, you'll notice a world of difference.

How many of these people have you met, John, because I think some of them NEED to be punched out a lot of the time.

Ava, I believe 'the golden rule' is referenced somewhere in the manifesto. By intention if not directly. Another 'challenge' here is how we choose to hear something as much as what is said. Anyone who takes me to task on what they think I shoulda said instead of what I DID say is just showing their inner control freak....IMNSHO.

There's a wealth of information and a lot of fun to be had. But plan on making an entire weekend of it. It's worth your time.....
