I was in my favorite local Music Store yesterday and noted that they had fewer Ovations and a Scuzzillion Taylors covering the full spectrum. The high point for me was playing the Taylor Custom solidbody in Walnut. Custom Solidbody in Walnut It was everything I'd expect a 2009 Viper to be! (pause now for deep thought) Now that Tacoma is dust and Ovation is yet to be rediscovered Taylor is absolutely eating your lunch and taking your Milk-money. ...and your Girlfriend has them on speed dial! FMIC, did I make myself clear?

But a Taylor lemming dressed in clones sheep will line up and buy anyting that remotely smells of cool aid. That's how they sell so many guitars.

The specific guitar I pointed to is an awesome feeling, playing and sounding instrument. Of course I would shop extensively and make sure I got a good price but I'm older and cheaper than most. My main regret was that this is exactly what should have come out of New Hartford had they had the Marketeering support. Some Parralells: - Tight CNC workmanship - Brand only designed Bridge - Bolt on Neck vs, Screws - 1 11/16" wide neck that felt so-o-o-o-o-o Viper like it wasn't funny - Brand only Electronics - The ability to Customize your order. By the way, I think every one of the features shown on the Taylor I've seen on models of Ovation PF, Viper, UKII or Deacon from 30 years ago. Bob Taylor has managed to sell his innovative ideas and using market wisdom he has fostered a cult following which has allowed him to sell more of his ideas. These ideas, however are not new and I guess what I'm really mourning is that the people that originally pushed this envelope are now broke down and in the Pit without a sponsor... And the cars keep going around and around.

Mike, I agree: I played one several months ago at a music store in Johnson City, Tn...I have to say before I saw one in person, I wasn't all that impressed: then I played one: I loved it: Smaller than I thought but sounded great and the attention to detail was spot-on wonderful. If I could have afforded it at the time, I would have bought it. The one that I played needed a setup (I prefer lower action) but other than that, I really liked it. But, then I found and bought this: ![]() No plans to buy the Taylor now...this is all I could hope for... Go here and double click each image for supersize: PRS \'01 Custom 22 To be fair, I do like the carved top Hamer's...Maybe later... For now, the overall package and playability of this guitar (my first PRS) just blew me away.

I don't work for them, or even own one I just think it's neat that we have a guitar factory in our state. If this is inappropriate, Al or Miles and should come down, I wont mind. Anita

It was amazing what he got out of the guitar and the crowd that he attracted. As we look back, some excellent guitars, to include the electrics, that either came out at the wrong time or didn't have the marketing/artist relation support. Those who make the effort and take the risk get the market share. Course, as Bill would say...CLICK
