Hello all, a first time post for me although I have been hanging around for a few weeks. My very first guitar was a CC257 and then went away from Ovation until now. I am really excited because I just ordered a 1769 ADll! It will be a couple of weeks until it arrives but just thought I would stop in to say hello! I'll be back soon!

Day-um Steward, that's one heck of a leap; Basic Celebrity (BC) to an AD! Congrats!

Welcome to the 'Ovation, tastes like more' family.

I need to post pics of my guitar when I get my guitar? That was six years ago--I better get busy...

Welcome Stewart! Hope you enjoy the ADII when you get it. From what I've read it's supposed to be a real special one.

Just some clarification here...maybe just for me because I maybe the only person here who does't get it..... Why do some people think that the posting of pictures of what was a standard production guitar is necessary or required?

If the guitar is for sale I can see why pics would be a good idea. If the guitar is a custom order or in some other way unique, likewise. But apart from 2 possible finishes, if it's just a standard production example, doesn't every 1769 ADll look the same? Couldn't you just check the Ovation website if you needed to know what it looks like? Why are some of you "looking forward to pics" when a google image search will do the job.

Let's just say it's a right of passage.

"A rite of passage is a ritual that a OFC member must go through in order to progress to the next stage of their Ovational life. It is a universal OFC phenomenon which can show anthropologists what social hierarchies, values, and GASeous beliefs are important in the OFC culture. Rites of passage are often ceremonies surrounding events such as other milestones within puberty, coming of age, marriage, weddings, death and the joy of capturing another Ovation and sharing that joy with other OFC members."

Also waiting to see if there is anyone out there who can outclass Dweezil in bringing out the most in a guitar picture.

In the spirit of our newly adopted rites of passage requirements, I'm going to have a Bris Milah when we cut the hangtags off my new Ovation. I'd take pictures but it's a privates ceremony.

Congrats on your new guitar, Stewart, and welcome to this wacky place.

Illustrative windows add life and color to a mundane text...
Hugh Hefner obviously understood the concept well...

Congrats Stewart. Welcome! Post away at your leisure.
