I found .... MY GUITAR on sale!
There is an auction for a GC178LX, for which the seller have used the pics of my guitar.
I wrote him asking some explanation. Not just because he used my own pics, but 'cause he is selling something different from what showed on the auction even if stated as "new".
Any comment / advice ?
Thanks
Riccardo

You should report it to Ebay and have the listing removed.

The exact same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. They even used my description. Report it. They'll probably pull it like they did with the one I told them about.

You may want to check that your guitar is where you think it is.....

You should definitely report it. If it looks like his first auction, that might mean that he is a thief who just opened a new ID hoping to catch somebody.
If you know they are your photos, there is a button just for that where you report a listing.

He might be new to selling, but he knew enough to steal some good photos?

Up-date: the seller replied me that he used the pics of my guitar because his guitar is exactly the same as mine, but newest then mine and without scratches. That's fanny !!
My guitar is just one year old, with no scratches at all and the pics was shooted soon after it showed to my home.
The auction ended with no offer. I just replied him not to use my pics any longer and list properly his item (used vs new) otherwise I will report the infringment to ebay and ask the auction to be closed.

Riccardo, You are just a Nice Guy. Too Nice!

I don't care what his excuse is. What this person is doing is Fraud. He intentionally chose your photos because they are Not stock images, and people might believe that those were photos of the actual guitar in his actual house. And since this person is committing Fraud, he would quite likely Lie to you also. This person may not even have a guitar.

I did buy a 1617 that only had a 'stock image' once. I told the seller that I would give him chance to prove his honesty. I arranged to come downstairs and inspect it in the UPS guy's presence...
It was a total Piece Or (crap) and I Refused It!
The guitar looked absolutely Nothing like the photo.

Next time you see something like that... HIT THE BUTTON!

Did he mention in the listing that he only got those photos from the internet?
If I do an Google 'Image Search' for GC178LX... Look what comes-up.

Does that look familiar? Lady eXtreme?
It is still fraud to use it in the listing and not tell people that the photos are Not of the Actual Guitar.

Sad thing is that the Ovation is a much better guitar than the Taylor 314 he says he got. If he's legit, he's an idiot and selling the wrong guitar...

I guess I should have resented that remark, but it just gives me another reason to visit Connecticut, besides the Ovation Factory Tour.

That is one of the things I Miss about Back-East...
Back there, People are Proud to be from a Polish, Jewish, Italian, Portuguese, Finnish, Swedish, Irish, Albanian, Iranian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Tibetan, Nepalese, Algerian, (name your nationality), neighborhood or town.

Out here everybody is so damn politically correct!
Half the time, when I speak, I make my tree-hugger buddies blush!
[Which is fun in itself! ]

I know that Milwaukee isn't "back East", except to westerners, but I didn't have any Polish pride when I was back there. I resented the jokes. I didn't develop the thick skin until I moved west. Now, if you check the University of Portland website you would see my name on the practice field an on last year's valedictorian speech. My two kids have 3 summa cum laudes between them. All the people who told the dumb Pollock jokes can just shove that up their asses.
