Today I sold my '99 Collector's Edition. The 1 11/16" nut no longer filled my needs for my finger picking style, but it's sad nonetheless. I hope the new owner (digitalman on the OFC) enjoys it. As an electric guitar playing dude he should, since he's used to a narrow nut. He got a good price and I can move on towards finding ANOTHER wide nut git. Have fun, digi, and treat her good.

Yeah, it sucks but once you're used to the wider nut, you're fuct.

I still like the narrow nut for fingerstyle songs where I use a lot of barre chords. The Folklore is a bit too wide to get clean notes on a barre chord, but the Ute is fine. I get klinkers no matter what size neck I play, so I don't really have a preference.
The 99 Collector's was one of the prettiest guitars around, though.

Too bad Ovation doesn't cater more to fingerstyle players.

It's funny how this worked out. I'd been looking for a mid-bowl elite and was having trouble finding one. In the meantime someone here turned me on to the '05 Collector's (which I bought). A week later I run across dark bar looking to sell his '99 Collectors - essentially the guiar I was looking for in the first place (only prettier). The best part? He is literally a 10 minute walk from my house! Now I have an '05 and a '99 Collector's - thanks, dark bar!

Patch, if you'd seen any of my plans you'd know this couldn't have been anything but dumb luck!

Pretty wild! I had decided not to put it on the OFC For Sale section 'cause I didn't want to have to deal with shipping it to Mark in Boise (I know you wanted it). Lo and behold, my neighbor wanted it. How cool is that?

I had that CL ad saved just in case I managed to scrape together a little extra cash. They say CL is local only, but not in my experience. :p

Congrats on the sale DB.

Congrats on the new guitar DM. :)

Congrats to both of ya'll!

Bob, what's on your short list now?

Looks like Manatee County is truly 'O' country considering we have four participating OFC members.

Isn't that crazy? For a small town, we got a bunch of OFC'rs. You know there's got to be a bunch of Ovation owners in Tampa, and we never even hear from them.

I'm not sure. G8r has a Larrivee I'm considering.
