This guitar was refurbished at the factory, refinishing the top with a new bridge and rosette. I have no doubt that it's set up perfectly. I'd give my left nut to buy this guitar. The top is 33 years old and I'd bet it sounds great. Oh well. If anybody wants to get me an early Xmas present. Hope somebody who will really appreciate it buys it..... 1977 Custom Legend

And this one is 33 years old and has just been refurbished by the factory. I think it can be had for a grand, but if I had the money, I'd pay the 12 hundred for it.....

I couldn't find that anywhere in the Ferengai rules of Profit... I must be practicing for "Mr. Big" Thursday but this Price Police thing is getting old.

Who's to say on the OFC that Moody for example doesn't put up a guitar for sale and then call me and say "Hey Dave, go post what a great bargin this is that someone here should grab it quick". Even if the guitar ain't really such a great bargin? Or if Waskel is interested in an Ovation on ebay that he contact his OFC buddies OMA, Woody and Jeff to post negative things about it to scare away other potential OFC'ers who might bid against him? The whole thing is just ripe for abuse. If I was king for a day that would be one of the first changes I would make - NO price discussion. But as they say, Just One Man's Opinion. PS - And I would add a category for "Off Topic"

Contrary to some folks opinions I don't think we carry anywhere near that kinda clout. However, I do agree with the sentiments expressed by you and Dave.

Anyone who gets this will never look back...price is what should make the seller and buyer happy. As some of us know too well, we are mere custodians of these precious instruments. Instruments, not mere guitars. Hopefully, we will be able to play them for a long time. If we take care of them, someone that follows will continue to enjoy. All I can tell you is that I have never played a Custom Legend (6 or 12-str) that didn't exceed my expectations. One of my 30th Anniv CL's gets far more play than any of my others, to include slothead #50 or the Brazilian Tak. As to the behavior on the OFC, there is nothing wrong at getting your best price. Just realize that, in most cases, the seller probably has a pretty good idea of the value. I don't recommend that we have a no price rule...many of our discussions are very informative. We have better members than the AGF.
