Happy Mother's Day to all - those who are mothers and those who have or had mothers. Mine has been gone for a few years now, and though I will always miss her, I still feel her presence.

A little while ago Jarret came in with a beautiful bouquet of spring flowers and a card. Of course I cried - just like MY Mom used to cry whenever I'd do something nice for her.

So if you've still got a Mom, make her cry today. If yours is no longer here, remember her and be thankful for all she ever did for you.

Had to go the corner store today.
Clerk asked if I wanted a lotto ticket for my Mom.
I said that she had already won... she had me.

My 15 yr old daughter made a box and inside placed 25 notes to "mom" telling her all the things she loved about her. Made her cry this morning.

I just got a happy mothers day text from a past girl friend because she knew I was a single dad that raised my kids. It made me feel pretty good.

Yes, Mothers are special. I hope all here had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Today, all the family gathered and we had a good time. My 5 year old niece and I jammed together. She banged on the organ and I tried to follow along. Then she wanted to switch places. I let her play the Patriot. The Patriot is bigger than she is!

Anyway, she sat on the couch and played the Patriot "flat on it's roundback"! I never did get that girl a guitar -- maybe this year will be the year.

Mom went to church with us yesterday and it happened to by my Sunday to play. Good thing about Mom is that no matter how you play, she still thinks its wonderful. Thanks to all you moms out there!

Churches can be so silly at times....

I think the song is the best Mother's day song second only to Jimmy Dean's "I.O.U."

Back when I was a young kid that was ABSOLUTELY one of my favorite songs. I wore the grooves out on that album.

That one and "In The Good Old Days" were my favorites...still remember most of the words.

We'd get up before sun up to get the work done up
We'd work in the fields till the sun had gone down
We stood and we cried as we helplessly watched
A hailstorm beatin our crops to the ground
We've gone to bed hungry many nights in the past
In the good old days when times were bad
