So I find myself here in Boise on a business trip that looks like it is going to turn from a day trip into an over-nighter. So since tonight and part of tomorrow I'm going to have nothing to do more than likely, anyone know of anything fun going on in the Boise area? Anything thats a "must see!"?

Well you could have given me a little heads up. I'm leaving for Portland in a couple hours. Eagles are playing here this weekend. Hockey finals next door to my office. Bunch of other stuff I didn't pay attention to, since I won't be here, including 75 to 80 degree weather and I have a buy one get one free card for 11 local golf courses.
Oh yeah, one of the top two Ovation collections in Idaho.

Oh dang!!! Unfortunately I didn't find out about this trip until 6pm last night when my boss said "Hey guess what..." and a flight was booked at that point. Too bad, I'll be back down here in a couple of weeks though so maybe we can figure something out then!

So if you've got one of the top two... who's got the other!? :D

I hadn't seen Waskel's second cheap shot before I posted a serious response.
I'm going to Portland because Boise's having our first really nice weekend of the Spring and I wanted to go someplace rainy and depressing.
Actually, it's my daughter's and uncle's birthday, so we're having a party. She's 23 and he's 90. Might squeeze in a little golf and guitar, too.

That's why they paint the football field blue....grass won't grow in Boise and snow doesn't show well on TV

It is amazing how many people never heard of Boise until they got that blue turf. A lady from Florida asked me how they got it to grow that color. (Not really.)

Actually, I like Boise. A little far from the ocean to suit me, but it's pretty there.

Well, just wait for the 'big one', then Mark will likely have ocean frontage.

Boise will always bring a warm memory to me. A friend was getting married, so I spent a week in a tent pitched between some relative's farm house and a corn field during an unbearably hot summer back in 1973, but it was good because it was during that week that I purchased my first new Ovation.

That could have been close to downtown in 1973. We rented our first apartment in 1978, in a pretty commercial area of town and woke up to the sound of a chicken farm right behind us.

I'm sitting here watching the storms roll in over the mountains and the peregrine falcons swoop around, thinking that you flatlanders can just keep your alligators and Disney World.
It really sucks here. Don't come.

Just kidding. I'd love to be there right now, although I don't need no falcons swooping down on me.

I know. I wasn't really kidding about Florida, though. The only reason I'd go there is to see you guys. That's probably not saying much for Florida. The Eagles are actually playing here tonight. Hey, those guys are old!

Regardless, we have many fond memories of ol' Idaho (seven years)!
