The guitar:
----------------------------------------
* Acoustic/electric (Electronics like the iDea, or OP 30, or VIP)
* Cutaway, or 14-fret
* Smooth neck
* Wideneck -- 1 3/4ths inch at least. To permit my big fingers to chord without being all cramped up, AND solo.
* A deep-contour or deep-bowl works equally well.
* Yep. GREAT sound, ie: deep, but bright as well, and well-balanced; resonant, full-bodied, consistent up and down the neck. (My goodness, sounds also like what I'm looking for in a good woman!)

Additional accoutrements:
----------------------------------------
* Heavy pick -- V-Picks are GREAT! Used to use Dunlop 1.14's, but the V-Pick glides over the strings! No, I don't work for V-Pick.
* Medium-Light gauge strings for fast runs.

Conclusion: OFC II wideneck. A 1681 wideneck (if there ever existed such a thing) would be in close second.

I have an OFC II regular neck, and have tried to talk Dave (Gallerinski) out of his wideneck, but no luck (not that I blame him, darn it!). Anyone want to work a trade of some kind?

AH... full-bodied, well balanced woman with a smooth neck....or back??

For your dream guitar I'm also looking for. The name of mine is "Collectors' 2008".

Everytime I come up with a dream guitar, I call Al and have it made. Then I have to start dreaming all over again. Right now, my dream guitar is one that I can play well, or a new motorcycle, or retirement in a few years.

Funny thing about "dream guitars" if you are lucky enough to ever land your "dream" seems like it immediately gets overwritten with a new dream. Tastes, desires and finances change as well. So todays dream may look nothing like yesterdays dream and will soon be replaced by tomorrows dream.

My REAL "dream" would be to aquire enough free time in my life to sit back, smell the coffee, enjoy the things I've got and be thankful for all the other "things" that really matter in life (none of which are guitars).

Patriot. Karen's was at Racoonfest and it was the one I kept picking up. It wouldn't replace the Adamas 2080, but it is the only acoustic I want in addition to the 2080.

that about says it all, except that quite a few of them are guitars and the ability to play them.

I can't say it better than Dave did. The dream ends when I buy the guitar. Better to dream of things I can't get, like being a better guitar player or golfer. My golf gives me nightmares.

If povation doesn't own his dream guitar yet, I guess dreams don't come true.

This will probably cost me any credibility I ever had, but my dream guitar is any of the Ovation guitars that were owned/played by Cat Stevens (when he was still Cat Stevens).

Can't say I have a "dream" guitar, but one I would really like to have would be a wide neck 12-string Hurricane.
Been searching for one for a good while, even asked the factory if they could special build a wide neck for the Hurricane I have - BUT THEY CAN'T!
Yeah, it was hard for me to believe too that there was an Ovation modification that John and Kim couldn't do!
But there you have it.

My dream guitar would be one that has all the features of the ones I have, that would automatically convert from one to the other, with the push of a button (including a deep bowl slot head cutaway Adamas I 12-fret 12-string with a 1 3/4" neck). With that said ... I believe that's why they invented the acoustic multi-effects board. Here's the one I currently like to use: Zoom A2.1U ... Anyone know of any better ones than this?

This is simple.

Essentially this guitar...

with this wiring configuration.

Click here for detailed Genesis NT #1 photos.

The "blade" switch is actually a 5-position varitone. The only other mod is possible a fishman strat style powerbridge, but I'm not sold on that idea yet.

I'm not sure, I'd have to think it out some, then have it built by Ervin Somogyi.
