I can't recall ever seeing an Ovation or Adamas 7 string. I mean a "regular" guitar (non-12 or exotic) that has one extra (bass) string, as is common in European tradition. I'd love to play one... esp an Adamas!

I'm sure it could be done but I don't think I've ever seen one either... you could be the first!

I wonder about the neck-width and the separation between the strings...is the space between the strings the same, on a 7-string as on a 6-string? Or does that space change with the additional string?

I DO love a good wideneck! And I love a nice 12-string, but NOT because of the wideneck; rather because of the different sound.

This -- the hypothetical Adamas 7-stringer -- might be the ultimate wide-neck!

And I'm thinking that even with nine there isn't an extra bass string - it's just a twelve with three strings missing.

Seriously, why would someone go and plug up three holes on a perfectly good 12 string? That makes no sense at all to me.

So Mike, now we know your secret. You tell the wife that you only have 7 Adamas guitars.

But we know that it's REALLY 9 of them !!!

Love ya anyway Mike. Of course, nothing like that has ever happened to me.

Speaking of loving things, that's the second Ovation 9-string I've seen pictures of, and I would love to get my hands on one.

Welllllllll...it DOES have seven strings...

It just has two more too, that's all.

I'll bet it was a "You buy this 7-stringer, and we'll t'row in two more -- for FREE!"
kinda thing.

Like Alan's songs have 27 guitar notes per second, he throws in the other 64 for free.
