Joined: November 2006 Posts: 3969 | Speaking as a woodworker for the past 20+ years, mineral oil does not penetrate into the wood cells very deeply, i.e. it's not a "restorative" oil. Most of it stays on the surface, thus providing a sheen that makes it appear as if the wood is wet without actually doing anything about deep wood dryness. It can clog up the wound strings if you don't wipe off the excess. YMMV. | ||
