A better question is "What do you really play?" When I play concentrated for a longer time it always ends up with the UTE or the FD14. In the past weeks almost only the FUD. Amazing little baby.

My IQ went up 6 points when I got rid of it. As for which I play? I have played every one of the guitars in the past month, but I have played my 2 Adamas and the Carvin H2 the most.

They all helped me to figure out what is "the perfect guitar" for me (at least for now). Playing-wise: • I gravitate frequently to the OFC II because I think it's written into the state of Connecticut laws that one must play such a fine guitar if one owns one. Or maybe it's an existential-level responsibility. I forget which. • Then, I play the FD-14 a lot, 'cause it's just bloomin' gorgeous, HUGELY playable, has a spectacular wideneck and sounds like a dream. • The Gitane for the gypsy jazz sound. • The '01C, because it's tuned to Open D, and I want to learn what to do with that. • The MWoody, 'cause it's tuned to Open G, and I want to learn what to do with that. But, I go through phases, so they all cycle through fairly regularly in any given year.

Joined: December 2004 Posts: 2150 Location: Orlando, FL | I like Dave's question of "how many do you really play?" A while back, when I actually counted my guitars, I decided I just had to many guitars! So I started playing each one to remember why I had each one. I couldn't find one I wanted to get rid of. There are 2 that I will keep for sentimental reasons and won't play much. But now I really enjoy playing all of my guitars. This may sound weird but a lot of times I will play something on one guitar, then stop and start playing the same thing on 5 or 6 other guitars. I tend to play things differently on different guitars. When I play the same song on my Adamas, my Country Artist and my Archtop, for example, they have such different sounds and personalities, I usually approach the same song differently. So I have too many guitars, but at least I'm playing them now!
